We feel we have the right to sovereignty over our own lives. But do we? Is this, or has it ever been, the right of the Christian? Is it the difference between knowing Christ only as Savior or as both Savior and Lord?

There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape. No problem is without a positive value. View each problem as a possibility and you will reap dividends from your difficulties. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. The Lord knows those who are His.

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you.
2 Chronicles 7:14, Deuteronomy 28:10

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”
Matthew 6:30-33

“Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Immanuel is Hebrew for “God with us.” “There shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse”; Jesse was the father of David, second king of Israel.
Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 11:1

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.”
Luke 1:32-33

“The key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder,” which in turn refers to Isaiah 9:6: “The government shall be upon His shoulder.” Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Isaiah 22:22, Matthew 28:18

The dayspring from on high has visited us. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it–one from the house of David–one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness. I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
Isaiah 16:5, Isaiah 22:22

I will bless the glorious things He does for me. LORD, You establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished You have done for us. God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, BOTH Lord and Christ.

In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty.”
Daniel 2:44, Daniel 9:25, Haggai 2:9

He will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice. The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies. See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.

A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God. A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. His government and peace will have unlimited growth. He will establish David’s throne and kingdom. He will uphold it with justice and righteousness now and forever. The LORD of Armies is determined to do this!
Isaiah 10:21, Isaiah 11:1, Isaiah 9:7

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
Isaiah 11:1

Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.
Daniel 7:27

See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. But with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

All this also comes from the LORD Almighty, wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom.
Isaiah 28:29

God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.

Do not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good. Do not let any of the enemy’s attributes sully up the cleansing waters of the wellspring of My life that is in your heart. Never betray My trust–learn to not take any offense but it is to your glory to overlook them. Those that love Me, know that My divine love never fails and that it is to your credit to cover their sins with My love. Become My life streams in the barren wilderness of this world
–an oasis from the blasting heat of the waster of men’s lives–to you I will send them to find pools of refreshing in the presence of My Son, the King who sets men free from their creditors. Owe no man a thing but to love him!

Lord Jesus, I pray that I may become a channel of God’s Holy Spirit. May the releasing power of Your Royal Love flow through me into the lives of those around me. Amen

“I am coming soon; hold fast what you have so that no one may seize your crown. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
1 Corinthians 1:9, Hebrews 10:23, 2 Peter 2:9,
Revelation 3:11, Luke 12:32

Then My people will live in a peaceful habitation, And in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places…For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you. I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild beasts so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety.

This is what the LORD says:

“In the time of My favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances.”
Isaiah 49:8

Luke 2:6-2:7:
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. “

I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles.

Parents have swaddled their babies throughout history. Archaeological records suggest that swaddling first developed around 4000 B.C. in Central Asia with use of the back-pack cradle board by migrating peoples. As desertification progressed, migration from region to region became a relatively permanent way of life. Swaddling subsequently became an institutionalized part of child-rearing tradition in those same areas.

Swaddling clothes described in the Bible consisted of a cloth tied together by bandage-like strips. After an infant was born, the umbilical cord was cut and tied, and then the baby was washed, rubbed with salt and oil, and wrapped with strips of cloth. These strips kept the newborn child warm and also ensured that the child’s limbs would grow straight. Ezekiel 16:4 describes Israel as unswaddled, a metaphor for abandonment.

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

In Genesis 28:15, God gives us His Word and He cannot lie–
I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.
Deuteronomy 31:8

To His children migrating home out of the land of bondage, God says,
My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Success is guaranteed by the Word. For even the Roman centurion said to Jesus, “it is not necessary that You come under my roof for I am not worthy–just speak the Word only and my servant will be healed.” The Word works.

Sign” in the New Testament is used of miracles taken as evidence of divine authority.

Recently, a friend was complaining about seeing “SIGNS” everywhere so much so that they hindered the view. Immediately, it brought to remembrance the 1971 hit song, “Signs” performed by the Five Man Electrical Band. Although, a string of hits followed and a slew of others, “Signs” was the hit that truly places the band on hallowed ground in music history.

This hit has an unforgettable line….“And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply” yet in the Old Testament the two Hebrew words most frequently used for “miracle” are translated “sign” and “wonder”. They are synonyms and often occur together in the same text.Sign” may be an object or daily activity as well as an unexpected divine action. The basic nature of a sign is that it points people to God.Wonders” describe God’s supernatural activity, a special manifestation of His power.
God’s authoritative power is in His Word. He cannot lie. What He says, comes to pass. He watches over His Word to bring it to pass.
The prophetic word itself is authoritative and the confirming sign upholds it, presents is and establishes the prophetic word by the double witness.

I am reminded of 1 John 3:1 which says,

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.”

Here, I hear the Word of the Lord speaking to me as He did to Jeremiah,

Demolish, and Then Start Over
The Message of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah of the family of priests who lived in Anathoth in the country of Benjamin. God’s Message began to come to him during the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amos reigned over Judah. It continued to come to him during the time Jehoiakim son of Josiah reigned over Judah. And it continued to come to him clear down to the fifth month of the eleventh year of the reign of Zedekiah son of Josiah over Judah, the year that Jerusalem was taken into exile. This is what God said:

Before I shaped you in the womb,
I knew all about you.
Before you saw the light of day,
I had holy plans for you:
A prophet to the nations—
that’s what I had in mind for you
.”

But I said, “Hold it, Master God! Look at me.
I don’t know anything. I’m only a boy!

God told me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m only a boy.’
I’ll tell you where to go and you’ll go there.
I’ll tell you what to say and you’ll say it.
Don’t be afraid of a soul.
I’ll be right there, looking after you
.”
God’s Decree.

God reached out, touched my mouth, and said,
Look! I’ve just put my words in your mouth—hand-delivered!
See what I’ve done? I’ve given you a job to do
among nations and governments—a red-letter day!
Your job is to pull up and tear down,
take apart and demolish,
And then start over,
building and planting
.”
Stand Up and Say Your Piece
God’s Message came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?”
I said, “A walking stick—that’s all.”
And God said, “Good eyes! I’m sticking with you.
I’ll make every word I give you come true
.”

God’s Message came again: “So what do you see now?
I said, “I see a boiling pot, tipped down toward us.
Then God told me, “Disaster will pour out of the north
on everyone living in this land.
Watch for this: I’m calling all the kings out of the north
.”
God’s Decree.

They’ll come and set up headquarters
facing Jerusalem’s gates,
Facing all the city walls,
facing all the villages of Judah.
I’ll pronounce my judgment on the people of Judah
for walking out on Me—what a terrible thing to do!—
And courting other gods with their offerings,
worshiping as gods sticks they’d carved, stones they’d painted.

But you—up on your feet and get dressed for work!
Stand up and say your piece. Say exactly what I tell you to say.
Don’t pull your punches
or I’ll pull you out of the lineup
.”
(Jeremiah 1:1-17)

Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. No stumbling stones…no throwing stones…no taking offense…For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

And again as God says to Jeremiah

I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear Me, so that they will never turn away from Me.”
Jeremiah 32:40

But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights. For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. The Son of Man has authority over the day of worship.

He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.

A child’s view of the Father God is greatly influenced by his or her earthly father.

Yet in our country the role of fathers if often discouraged and undervalued. Even popular television programming and media propagate the lie and cause it to continue to spread by generation that a father’s role can be superseded by the mother. This is not God’s will for He is our heavenly Father and we are to order our house as His family under His will in creating us for His purpose.
If a wife is undermining the role of the father, then she is not the virtuous woman exemplified in Proverbs 31 but is the spirit of Jezebel, an evil spirit that has conceived wickedness in her heart in imposing her will above the Father God’s.

The wisest of women builds up her home, but a stupid one tears it down with her own hands. By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established–Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that this day is holy to the Lord, and
Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!

In the presence of the Lord is fullness of Joy and at His right hand, pleasures forever more. The joy of fatherhood is God-commanded and as a son honors his father, Praise is God-ordained
for it stills and silences the enemy–the lying accuser of our brethren.

It is time for the men of God to rise up and be the real fathers in fearless courage knowing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ever hope or imagine. No more shall the joy of fatherhood be suppressed by the press and cultural myths. Neglect not the gift of fatherhood in the pursuit of worldly goals which are temporary in nature for children are a gift from God and blessed is the man who has many of them. A godly heritage is a blessing from the hand of the Father God!

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)
Mothers, listen to Psalm 78:4-7: “We will . . . tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders he has done . . . that the next generation might know . . . so that they should set their hope in God.”

The living, the living–they praise You, as I am doing today; fathers tell their children about Your faithfulness.
Isaiah 38:19

We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, His power, and the wonders He has done. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
Deuteronomy 4:9

We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, His power, and the wonders He has done.
Psalm 78:4

It is no secret what God can do. What He’s done for others, He’ll do for you. With arms wide open, He’ll welcome you. It is no secret, what God can do….
The song “It Is No Secret,” Carl Stuart Hamblen
Since my youth, O God, You have taught me, and to this day I declare Your marvelous deeds.
Psalm 71:17

You then my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith for Jesus is the Pioneer and the Perfecter of our faith.

Let us pray that the Lord will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.
Fear not little flock for it is the Father’s good will to give you the Kingdom!

Lord today we stand before you and recommit our lives afresh in the roles You have assigned us in the places You set us as fathers and mothers and children that honor You in all that we say, think and do.
We value one another in bonds of faithfulness and truth according to Your perfect will and encourage one another to fulfill Your perfect will for our families to rise up and be One in You that Your name which is above all other names be seen in us. For You promise in
2 Chronicles 7:14, that “if My people who are called by My name
will humble themselves and pray then I will hear from heaven and heal their land
.”

In Jesus’ name we ask these things knowing that nothing is impossible with You. Abba Father Amen.

Place Setters

It is written in the prophets, AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD. Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, KNOW THE LORD, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. As for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit–just as it has taught you, remain in Him.

This is what the LORD says:
In the time of My favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances.
This is what the Sovereign LORD says:
On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt.”

They will rebuild the ancient ruins. They will restore the places destroyed long ago. They will renew the ruined cities, the places destroyed generations ago. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
Isaiah 49:8, Ezekiel 36:33, Isaiah 61:4, Isaiah 58:12

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
And your sons will be building again the old waste places: you will make strong the bases of old generations: and you will be named, He who puts up the broken walls, and, He who makes ready the ways for use. You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again. All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children’s peace. Then My people will live in a peaceful habitation, And in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places.

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says:
In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.”
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. LORD, You establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished You have done for us.
Isaiah 30:15 – Isaiah 26:3 – Isaiah 26:12

I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with Me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from Me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with Me and My words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how My Father shows who He is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as My disciples.”
John 15:5-8

Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is–
and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels.
They are God’s children, since they are children of the Resurrection. The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with Ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise because of Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
Psalm 8:2

It’s time to come take your place at the table of the Lord.
Oh taste and see that the Lord is good and that His mercy endures forever! No good things does He withhold from those who walk uprightly with Him.

And he said:
I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 18:3

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.

It’s time for the sons and daughters of the Father who is forever Faithful and True to rise up and take their place. We take our stand
in the authority of His name and His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven and the position He has appointed is a sacred trust and our
holy response according to the the powerful enabling of His love that is given for us in Christ Jesus. We stand in two places at the same time for we stand for Jesus on earth as it is in heaven. For whatsoever is bound on earth is bound in heaven; likewise whatsoever is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven for we are HIS WITNESSES in the earth today for we only do whatever He shows us even as Jesus the Son did nothing of Himself but only whatever His Father showed Him to do.

In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”
2 Corinthians 13:1

At that time Jesus said,
I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”
Matthew 11:25

This is how we follow Jesus our elder brother walking in agreement with He who is the Living Word of Almighty Father God by His Holy Spirit who is given to lead and guide us into all truth. For He is faithful who has called us and is watching over His Word to perform it.

Jesus, however, said,
Let the little children come to Me, and stop keeping them away, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these.”
Matthew 19:14

From birth. Bring your newborn to the family table; for God inhabits the praises of His people

At that time Jesus said,
I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”
Matthew 11:25

I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
Luke 18:17

In the last days,’ God says,
I will pour out My Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.’
Acts 2:17

The time for the restoration of all things is now. Today is the day of God’s grace and His Salvation is near to all who come to Him in obedience trust. He will change parents’ attitudes toward their children and children’s attitudes toward their parents. If not, I will come and reclaim My land by destroying you.

This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God. And we will receive from Him whatever we ask because we obey Him and do the things that please Him.

We know that God does not listen to sinners. We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
1 John 3:10 – 1 John 3:21-22 -John 9:31 – 1 John 5:14 – 1 John 5:14

And now, dear children, continue in Him, so that when He appears we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
1 John 2:28, 1 John 3:1

Father, as we, too, stand together as one body in Christ, teach us to fight Your battles and finish Your work. Train us to faithfully intercede for one another and to encourage each other to triumph, knowing that “our God will fight for us” as we follow You. Thank you, precious King.

I am my beloved’s and He is mine, so come into Your garden and take delight in me.

He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots.” For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
Matthew 15:13 – 1 Corinthians 3:9

When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river.

Do you not see how your inheritance – your promised land is divided with an inheritance on both sides? Even as the Jordan River was the great divide and flowed down from the snowy peak of Mount Hermon, every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father in Love.

As you divide, you will conquer. That is the classic strategy of winning any battle. And we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus who gave Himself for us that we might live forever with Him in love.

But it is life on God’s terms not ours. We must choose TODAY who we will serve – whether Jesus as King Eternal or the illusion that self is in control when the truth is that all of fallen humanity is under the dominion of the prince of darkness, our mortal foe, Satan.

Satan as the father of all lies will dangle the proverbial carrot in front of your nose all the while leading you further and further astray from the truth that we have such a Father that so loved us that He sent His Son Jesus to take our place bearing the price that
set us free to walk in newness in the glorious liberty as the ransomed children of God. Such a Father laid down His own life for ours. No agenda there but the PERFECTION of love that never fails.

This is the love that continues to grow as a SEED in the hearts of His children who walk by faith and not by sight (for they know that appearances are often deceiving and meant to lead us astray from the Faithful and True Father God). As we draw nearer to the Son we see the Father in all that He shows us. Each day through the presence of His Holy Spirit in prayer and praise, we receive the joyful strength of knowing we are His beloved in whom He is well pleased with each step progressing homewards to Him in the Perfect love of His Son’s redemption.

For this is the day that the Lord has made – we will rejoice and be glad in it! Every day is a new experience of growing closer to the Father in the perfecting love of His Son. This is how we overcome the world as seeing Jesus the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
For everyone that is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory even our faith for Jesus is the Pioneer and Finisher of our faith!

“‘A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?‘ says the LORD of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, ‘How have we despised Your name?
Malachi 1:6

Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?

[A song by Solomon for going up to worship.]
If the LORD does not build the house, it is useless for the builders to work on it. If the LORD does not protect a city, it is useless for the guard to stay alert. Your strength will be spent in vain, because your soil will not yield its crops, nor will the trees of the land yield their fruit. Apart from Me, you can do nothing but all things are possible to him who believes. This is the work of God to believe in His Son.

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will DELIVER you, and you will HONOR Me.
Psalm 50:15

Prayer guarantees a Companion (for Jesus sticks closer than any brother!) – a Friend who will gently hold your hand or hold you close to Himself in His everlasting arms (I call you “friendsIF you do whatever I tell you). Even He will pick us up and carry us when we cannot go on (even unto your old age and grey hairs He will not abandon you for He promises to be with you forever even unto the very end of this age). The Great Physician.
The One who comforts us in all our deepest sorrows (for there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior).

Then will all Your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of My hands, for the display of My splendor. But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
Isaiah 60:21 – Jeremiah 17:7 – Jeremiah 17:8

My seed is mighty in the earth today. If you have faith AS a SEED you can say to this mountain move and it will for nothing is impossible to him who believes God.

I will provide for them a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the scorn of the nations.
Ezekiel 34:29

Kings and queens will serve you and care for all your needs. They will bow to the earth before you and lick the dust from your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD. Those who trust in me will never be put to shame. Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.
Isaiah 49:23 – Isaiah 26:8 -Psalm 127:1, Leviticus 26:20

He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him. So that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
Psalm 126:6 – Isaiah 41:20

Even as the saying, “one’s reputation PRECEDES him,”
Jesus made a public spectacle of all powers and authorities upon the cross ( Colossians 2:13-15 ).
He did not just defeat them, but he paraded that defeat through the heavenly realms.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
2 Corinthians 2:14

Praise precedes the Lord’s VICTORY processional. Even though I walk through the valley of the SHADOW of life and death, I fear no evil for You are with me Lord and Your rod and staff comfort me…Surely, goodness and mercy shall FOLLOW ME all the days of my life and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever!
All shadows must flee at the presence of Your marvelous light!

The sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Therefore My people will know My name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.”
Isaiah 60:14 – Isaiah 52:6

Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine

For the LORD takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with salvation. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.
Psalm 149:4 – Isaiah 26:2

Jesus replied,

Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.”
Matthew 22:29

Jesus told Nicodemus, You’re a well-known teacher of Israel. Can’t you understand this? They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead. Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God–I say this to your shame.

OUCH!

What an insulting indictment Jesus handed to the religious leaders of His day. They may have been proud of their knowledge of the Scriptures and yet He was saying that these leaders really didn’t understand them. They did NOT have the experiential knowledge of the power of God.

When we are not really CONNECTING to the LIVING GOD, what we end up with is “religion.”

Religion is pretty easy for any of us to FALL into isn’t it?

Addressing the Pharisees another time, Jesus said,

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that TESTIFY about ME; and you are unwilling to COME TO ME so that you may have life.”
(John 5:39-40)

While the Pharisees were experts in the Scriptures, Jesus saw that they were studying for the WRONG reasons.

The Scriptures have been given to LEAD US TO GOD.

Yes, they are His words to us and carry His full authority, but He wants us to have a PERSONAL relationship with Him, not just a book or a religious system. While the Bible certainly is a ROAD MAP, God has given us the Holy Spirit as a GUIDE to INTERPRET the MAP.

He will give me glory, because he will tell you what I say. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Have you ever been told not to seek experiences? Sure. And there is good reason for that advice. However, God does want us to experience HIM.

What is wrong with a life-changing experience with God?

Dear God, I want to CONNECT with YOU when I read the Scriptures. And I desperately need life-changing experiences with You. Forgive me for slipping into religious mode at times. I really want an authentic relationship. I will practice Your presence while I go about my work. Let’s talk while we walk! Amen.

The Lord KNOWS those we are HIS.

Looking Glass

In life, we find ourselves going through the motions of being Christian. We are smiling at all the right times. We know how to respond to any question asked us on Sunday morning.

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

When we look in the mirror of His Word, we hear Him calling us to meet Him in that secret place of intimacy. He calls us patiently, compassionately, to drink of His Water and sit at His Table.

He calls us to a place of peace and rest in Him.
We know it’s Him, yet we do not come.
Oh, we tell Him, “We will be right there.”

We justify our reasons for being late; reminding Him it’s because of our service for Him and the responsibilities we carry in this world.
Yet, even when we think about these thoughts, the come out hollow and empty without the truth of real justification. The accuser of the brethren stands close at hand to whisper accusations in our ears, stirring the storms of defeat that spiral us down into the valley of despair.

Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.

You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
Genesis 4:7

Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey–whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Romans 6:16

Our heart begins to condemn us for our slothfulness and neglect. The coldness of our heart amazes us. We are left in the loneliest of all places–with ourselves.

In this abyss of emptiness and defeat, the voice of His Holy Spirit reminds us of His Word, “If our heart condemns us, He is greater than our heart.” (1 John 3:20)

The Solution Is Life on God’s Terms

With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.

God went for the jugular when he sent his own Son. He didn’t deal with the problem as something remote and unimportant. In his Son, Jesus, he personally took on the human condition, entered the disordered mess of struggling humanity in order to set it right once and for all. The law code, weakened as it always was by fractured human nature, could never have done that.

The law always ended up being used as a Band-Aid on sin instead of a deep healing of it. And now what the law code asked for but we couldn’t deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us.
(Romans 8)

King David knew how to encourage himself in the LORD alone and his heart is one that the Lord commends for being after His own—
Psalm 103
Of David.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise His holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all His benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.

He made known His ways to Moses,
His deeds to the people of Israel:
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
nor will He harbor His anger forever;
He does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is His love for those who fear Him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him;
for He knows how we are formed,
He remembers that we are dust.
The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear Him,
and His righteousness with their children’s children —
with those who keep His covenant
and remember to obey His precepts.

The Lord has established His throne in heaven,
and His kingdom rules over all.

Praise the Lord, you His angels,
you mighty ones who do His bidding,
who obey His word.
Praise the Lord, all His heavenly hosts,
you His servants who do His will.
Praise the Lord, all His works
everywhere in His dominion.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

This same Simon that Jesus prayed for is the very same one that Jesus gave the name PETER the ROCK for his faith was built on the FIRM FOUNDATION of Jesus death and resurrection as the SON of GOD.
Create a clean heart in me, O God, and renew a faithful spirit within me.

A TRUE DISCIPLE IS ONE WHO HAS HIS NEW NAME WRITTEN ALL OVER HIM–SELF-INTEREST, PRIDE AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY ERASED.” (Oswald Chambers, “My Utmost For His Highest“)

Dear God, Search my heart and know me in all my ways. My desire is to know You and please You. Root out of my heart any hidden slothfulness that keeps me from You. I repent of my faithlessness and slothfulness in seeking You first. Help me to have courage to follow You in the Way Everlasting. Amen.

Put no conditions on your life–let Jesus be everything to you and He will take you home with Him not only for a day, but for eternity.” (Oswald Chambers)
HE IS FOREVER FAITHFUL!
