Are you living right?
When you live right, you won’t be disappointed for there is hope in your future declares the Lord.
Therefore, now no condemnation awaits those who are living in Jesus the Anointed, the Liberating King,
because when you live in the Anointed One, Jesus, a new law takes effect.
The law of the Spirit of life breathes into you and liberates you from the law of sin and death.
God did something the law could never do.
You see, human flesh took its toll on God’s law. In and of itself, the law is not weak; but the flesh weakens it.
So to condemn the sin that was ruling in the flesh, God sent His own Son, bearing the likeness of sinful flesh,
as a sin offering.
Now we are able to live up to the justice demanded by the law.
But that ability has not come from living by our fallen human nature;
it has come because we walk according to the movement of the Spirit in our lives. (Romans 8:1-4)
Hearing and Doing
This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;
for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
The reward of those who do right is a satisfied life,
but the profits gained by those who do wrong is used to sin.
Those who accept instruction are travelers on the road to a meaningful life,
but those who refuse correction wander off and pave a path to ruin.
Lips that lie cover deep-seated hatred,
and whoever spreads a libelous rumor is acting as a fool.
The more you talk, the more likely you will cross the line and say the wrong thing;
but if you are wise, you’ll speak less and with restraint.
The speech of those who do right is of greater value than the finest silver,
but the thoughts of wrongdoers are worthless.
The right-living teach many,
but fools die with no clue how to live well.
Perhaps the ancients knew the power of words better than we do.
Words can conceal, reveal, destroy, and encourage.
Words are extremely powerful,
so Wisdom urges us to use a few carefully chosen words and to pick our conversations equally well.
The blessing of the Eternal is what makes someone rich,
and He doesn’t add pain to it.
Mischief is the sport of fools,
but wise actions bring joy to a person with insight.
Whatever wrongdoers fear the most will happen to them,
but those who do right will receive what they long for.
After the storm passes, the wrongdoers are blown away,
but those who do right are safe and sound on their firm foundations forever.
(Proverbs 10:16 -25)
In Galatians 5:22-23,Paul has been preaching about the call of God to freedom, and so he now spells it out:
we are done with the demands of the law; now we are free to live in the Spirit and to be truly right with God.
As free people, the Spirit gives us the characteristics of Jesus; we, too, can freely love in joy and peace.
We can have patience along with kindness and faithfulness that can only come from the Father.
We can reflect the goodness of God while being gentle in operating with self-control.
For those who follow Him and live in the Spirit, these characteristics or fruits are a gift from God.
As we grow in the faith, we find that we belong to God and can walk daily in the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit produces a different kind of fruit:
unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kindheartedness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
You won’t find any law opposed to fruit like this.
God’s visitation is shown in both the Old and New Testaments.
For believers as defined by Jesus’ life–not doing our “own” will
but the will of the Father, we hear and do in accordance with His Word.
This is what is called “doing” the works of the Father–His will being done on earth as it is in heaven.
God’s visitation for those who believe (accept His Word) there is a positive ending,
resulting in salvation or deliverance from sin and death.
But for the fearful or unbelieving, it carries a negative connotation and accompanying result:
*See in Genesis 5:24-25, Psalm 106:4, Jeremiah 27:24, Exodus 32:34, Leviticus 18:25, Isaiah 10:3 and Jeremiah 10:15.
Remember, Jesus gave a life-lesson on this Kingdom principle when he sought to taste the fruit of the fig tree
on His way to Jerusalem. Remember too that same fig tree received a curse for not bearing fruit when Jesus
Evidence that Demands a Verdict, or–God’s School of Obedience
When a person recognizes God’s visitation, their hearts receive the training and testing required of SONS.
Again, Christ is the epitome of this Kingdom principle: Although He was a Son,
Jesus learned obedience through the things He suffered.
And once He was perfected through that suffering He became the way of eternal salvation
for all those who hear and follow Him. (Hebrews 5:8-9)
If you are convicted of sin by God’s Holy Spirit then you can repent (turn to God) and receive His redeeming life.
But if you reject His conviction you receive His death sentence for the wages of sin is death.
The Holy Spirit is a WITNESS
A defense witness to a believer, but a prosecuting witness against the unbeliever.
By an act of faith, Enoch skipped death completely.
“They looked all over and couldn’t find him because God had taken him.”
We know on the basis of reliable testimony that before he was taken “he pleased God.”
It’s impossible to please God apart from faith.
Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe
both that He exists and that He cares enough to respond to those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:5-6)
The Evidence Demands a Verdict
Is the life of Christ evidenced in your daily living or is your epitaph, “here lies...”
Suffering for Righteousness
But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed.
AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you,
yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. (1 Peter 3:14-16)
When Jesus visited the first time, his earthly ministry was to decide the fate of Judah and to divide the
good figs from the bad.
Here is a “crib note“, Judah means “praise.”
And, Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Does our life bring all glory, honor and praise to Him or not?
Are we resisting or submitting to God’s will as revealed in the death and resurrection of the Christ?
Those we are living in submission are in the proper place to receive the Holy Spirit’s help which is
the place prepared in the “wilderness” of this passing away world and its “kingdoms.”
A wedding feast is being prepared in the wilderness for Jesus’ return as Eternally Victorious King.
Is His life pronounced in you, your heart defined in Christ or not?
Now is the day of salvation, the door is open as revealed in John 3:16.
As it was in the day of Noah so it will be for when the door shuts, no man can open it.
Take the first step by faith and the “2nd mile” by the power of His Holy Spirit leading and guiding.
Again, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and
self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
This is the harvest being testified and prophetically revealed in the first fruits offering: a life growing up
in Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit.
The purpose of the fruit is to draw still more to the Father through the Son. He is the Vine, we are branches.
As we bear His fruit, others are drawn to Him and taste and see (the Father reveals His great love John 3:16)
in the now responsive “earth” of their hearts to receive His “seed” the spiritual DNA of His King, the Son Jesus.
And the circle of life is repeated as His life is reproduced over and over again unto a thousand generations
that love God and obey His Word.
Also, the Be-atitudes manifest (reveal, show) the fruit of the Spirit of God.
Walk worthy of your calling
Was any man called when he was already circumcised? He is not to become uncircumcised.
Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? He is not to be circumcised.
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing,
but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God.
Each man must remain in that condition in which he was called. (1 Corinthians 7:18-20)
Christ in you is the hope of God’s glorious inheritance as His chosen called out children.
Christ is the promised one, the seed of Abraham in whom the blessing comes.
If we agree with God, we say “Amen” to His Son as the First and Last in all we do.
He is the portrayal of the victorious finished work, that God pronounced blessed.
“Here is my Son in whom I am well-pleased listen to Him.”
Remember the testimony of faith spoken by Jesus’ earthly mother the earthen vessel that birthed God’s Son:
“Whatever He tells you to do, do it.”
Order in the Court Room
Only comes one way–accepting the truth.
Is there Room in your heart to receive His faith as a seed?
Remember, Jesus grew…
in grace (favor) with God and man.
But it all starts with the seed of faith…faith (trust) in God’s unfailing love.
To repeat, God sent His Word to heal and deliver from sin and destruction.
In Christ Jesus, God reaffirms His love for whosoever will believe and receive His eternal life.
The God of Glory
How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is!
He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him.
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love,
to be made whole and holy by his love.
Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son. (Ephesians 1:3-6)
Adoption Equals Sonship Same as Christ—that we may hear, “this is My beloved Son in whom I am well-pleased.“
Dear heavenly Father, may my life be a song of praise, an obedient reciprocity of worship in
truth, love, mercy and grace—an ovation of a grateful heart touched by the Master’s hand line by line
according to Your composition, Your perfect and divine order as a member of Your family of perseveringly
triumphant faith and love. Help me today and every day, to advance the family name in the midst of all
You have called and chose me to walk amidst so that they too may receive adoption out of the orphanage
of sin and death, Amen.
