Don’t Fret Because of Evildoers
The steps of a man are established by the LORD, And He delights in his way.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand. (Psalm 37:22-24)
“When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come near and speak to the people.…”(Deuteronomy 20:1-2)
But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt.
Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God Himself will fight for you.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you;
The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Exodus 20:20—The Time of Testing
Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”
In 2 Chronicles 20:17,
Then Jahaziel was moved by the Spirit of God to speak from the midst of the congregation.
(Jahaziel was the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah
the Levite of the Asaph clan.)
He said, “Attention everyone—all of you from out of town, all you from Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat—
God’s Word: Don’t be afraid; don’t pay any mind to this vandal horde. This is God’s war, not yours.
Tomorrow you’ll go after them; see, they’re already on their way up the slopes of Ziz;
you’ll meet them at the end of the ravine near the wilderness of Jeruel.
You won’t have to lift a hand in this battle;
just stand firm, Judah and Jerusalem, and watch God’s saving work for you take shape.
Don’t be afraid, don’t waver. March out boldly tomorrow—God is with you.”
In Joshua 6–
The citizens of Jericho had barricaded themselves behind its high walls because of the Israelite forces.
No one could get in or out.
Eternal One (to Joshua):
I have given Jericho, its king, and all its soldiers into your hands.
Every day for the next six days,
you will march once around the city walls with all your fighting force.
Seven priests will go in front of the covenant chest,
each carrying a trumpet made from a ram’s horn.
On the seventh day, you will march around the city walls seven times,
and the priests will blow their trumpets.
When they play a long final blast, then all the people will give a mighty shout.
The city walls will collapse in front of you,
and all the Israelites will charge in and take the city.
(Joshua 6:1-5)
Everyone who is called by My name whom I have created for My glory, I have formed him, yes, I have made him. (Isaiah 43:7)
O God, free me of all doubt and moments of despair.
Help me to trust in Your grace and Your grace alone, for You alone are glorious. Amen.
Your life has a special purpose.
There is a reason why you are alive today.
You are created in God’s image for His purposes on earth as it is heaven.
God is entrusting you with His best, with the seed-faith in the One He sent.
As He sent Christ so He sends us out as Christ-followers.
When you’ve seen the Son, you’ve seen the Father.
The Holy Spirit is given to lead and guide you into all truth every step of the way home
in the unfailing love of the Father who gave His only Son that whosoever believes
in Him shall not perish but have Everlasting Life.
He has made us to be a kingdom of priests and kings unto our God.
Even as the seven priests bore the trumpets as they marched before the covenant chest of the Eternal, we are entrusted with His presence to repeat the sounding joy
of our salvation in Christ Jesus for salvation is of the Jews and Jesus is the lion of
the tribe of Judah. Judah is PRAISE!
Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things! (Psalm 118:15)
We are carriers of the Eternal flame of the Lord and it is as we walk in His light
as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus
cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
He who held nothing back how will He not freely give us all things?
Arise and walk in the name of Jesus of Nazareth!
This is my story, This is my song, PRAISING my Savior all the day long.
And even Paul and Silas, who around midnight, found themselves imprisoned
but they were praying and singing, PRAISING God, and the earth shook
and the bars were broken open!
The Sabbath: Has Time Been LOST?
Psalm 84–
For the worship leader. A song of the sons of Korah accompanied by the harp.
How lovely is Your temple, Your dwelling place on earth,
O Eternal One, Commander of heaven’s armies.
How I long to be there—my soul is spent,
wanting, waiting to walk in the courts of the Eternal.
My whole being sings joyfully
to the living God.
Just as the sparrow seeks her home,
and the swallow finds in her own nest
a place to lay her young,
I, too, seek Your altars, my King and my God,
Commander of heaven’s armies.
How blessed are those who make Your house their home,
who live with You;
they are constantly praising You.
[pause]
Blessed are those who make You their strength,
for they treasure every step of the journey [to Zion].
On their way through the valley of Baca,
they stop and dig wells to collect the refreshing spring water,
and the early rains fill the pools.
They journey from place to place, gaining strength along the way;
until they meet God in Zion.
O Eternal God, Commander of heaven’s armies, listen to my prayer.
O please listen, God of Jacob.
[pause]
O True God, look at our shield, our protector,
see the face of Your anointed king, and defend our defender.
Just one day in the courts of Your temple is greater
than a thousand anywhere else.
I would rather serve as a porter at my God’s doorstep
than live in luxury in the house of the wicked.
For the Eternal God is a sun and a shield.
The Eternal grants favor and glory;
He doesn’t deny any good thing
to those who live with integrity.
O Eternal One, Commander of heaven’s armies,
how fortunate are those who trust You.
(Psalm 84)
Yet Jesus Himself frequently withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.
(Luke 5:16)
Rest is More
And as He prayed, the appearance of His face was transfigured
Keep it holy by not doing any work—
not you, your sons, your daughters, your male and female servants,
your livestock, or any outsiders living among you. For the Eternal made the heavens above, the earth below, the seas, and all the creatures in them in six days.
Then, on the seventh day, He rested.
That is why He blessed the Sabbath Day and made it sacred. (Exodus 20:10-11)
When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened.
And the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a Voice came out of heaven,
Time Out!
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Peter said, “I don’t have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!”
He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up.
In an instant his feet and ankles became firm. He jumped to his feet and walked. The man went into the Temple with them, walking back and forth,
dancing and praising God. Everybody there saw him walking around and praising God. They recognized him as the one who sat begging at the Temple’s Gate Beautiful and rubbed their eyes, astonished, scarcely believing what they were seeing.
The man threw his arms around Peter and John, ecstatic. All the people ran up to where they were at Solomon’s Porch to see it for themselves.
(Acts 3:6-11)
Turn to Face God
Spend time with your Creator. The true riches are in Christ Jesus in glory.
Follow Jesus WHEREVER you Are
Most of all, friends, always rejoice in the Lord! I never tire of saying it: Rejoice!
Keep your gentle nature so that all people will know what it looks like to walk in His footsteps.
The Lord is ever present with us.
Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything.
He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come.
And know that the peace of God
(a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding)
will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One.
Finally, brothers and sisters, fill your minds with beauty and truth.
Meditate on whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is good, whatever is virtuous and praiseworthy.
Keep to the script:
whatever you learned and received and heard and saw in me—do it—and the God of peace will walk with you.
(Philippians 4:4-9)
God is Our Refuge and Strength
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Psalm 46:11)
Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. (Psalm 100:3)
The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. (Isaiah 2:11)
The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day, (Isaiah 2:17)
Now, LORD our God, deliver us from his hand,
Are you Ready?
As He was praying, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. (Luke 9:29)
