Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when He arrives. (1 Peter 2:12)
“However, I have this against you: you have abandoned your first love. Do you remember what it was like before you fell?
It’s time to rethink and change your ways; go back to how you first acted.
However, if you do not return, I will come quickly and personally remove your lampstand from its place.
“Let the person who is able to hear, listen to and follow what the Spirit proclaims to all the churches.
I will allow the one who conquers through faithfulness even unto death to eat from the tree of life found in God’s lush paradise.” (Revelation 2:4-5; 7)
God frequently changes circumstances and people WHEN we in a very PERSONAL way PRAY
that His Will be done in our own spheres of influence.
Believe in the simplicity of God’s solution! BELIEVE!
Fear not; only BELIEVE! Then you shall see the glory of God revealed.
I pray, dear Lord, that my perception may not be BLOCKED by intellectual pride or distrust
but that I may simply BELIEVE in You. Amen.
All the nations have gathered together So that the peoples may be assembled.
Who among them can declare this And proclaim to us the former things?
Let them present their witnesses that they may be justified, Or let them hear and say, “It is true.”
“You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me. “I, even I, am the LORD, And there is no savior besides Me.” (Isaiah 43:9-11)
GIVE THEM UP!
Declare this in the house of Jacob And proclaim it in Judah, saying,
‘Now hear this, O foolish and senseless people,
Who have eyes but do not see; Who have ears but do not hear.
‘Do you not fear Me?‘ declares the LORD. ‘Do you not tremble in My presence?
For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea, An eternal decree, so it cannot cross over it. Though the waves toss, yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot cross over it.…”
This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.”
In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.” (Matthew 13:13-14)
So that, “‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!‘” (Mark 4:12)
Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? (Mark 8:18)
“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn–and I would heal them.” (John 12:40)
Go to this people and say, “You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.” (Acts 28:26)
But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? That’s why Scripture exclaims,
A sight to take your breath away!
Grand processions of people
telling all the good things of God!
But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act.
Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?”
The point is:
Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to. (Romans 10:4-17)
You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides Him there is no other. (Deuteronomy 4:35)
“See now that I Myself am Me! There is no god besides Me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of My hand.”
But you remain the same, and your years will never end. (Psalm 102:27)
“Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD–with the first of them and with the last–I am He.” (Isaiah 41:4)
So that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it. (Isaiah 41:20)
“Here is My servant, whom I uphold, My chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on Him, and He will bring justice to the nations. ” (Isaiah 42:1)
