A Living Sacrifice
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)
No Sucker Branches
Jesus is the Tree of Life. This is the pure and simple Truth that God loves us so
much that He sent Jesus to bear our sin to death in his body and raise us to newness
of resurrected life in his risen body. Unless a seed falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone but once it breaks off the hard outer casing, it grows and breaks through the earth and bears a fruitful life-produce tree.
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit–fruit that will last–and so that whatever you ask in My name the Father will give you. (John 15:16)
Only One Thing is Everything
The one thing that is needed; the one thing that the battle of the ages is centered
upon our worship. Which tree are you tapped into?
God is wholly devoted to His children in love. In its pure form, love is all you
need and God is love in Him is no darkness at all. The devil will always add to
or take away something from the simplicity of the Gospel as he seeks to lead you
astray in thinking you are missing out.
There is no sucker branch to substitute for the beautiful simplicity of a pure devotion and dependence on the life of Christ, and fellowship with Him, found only by abiding in perfect trust which is our rest in Him.
Any other “gospel” showing an alternative life-style only leads man astray and away from dependence on God into separation from life. This is a type of knowledge, wisdom and food that only leads to death.
A sucker branch can grow and work hard to validate its existence but it can not produce fruit. It only drains vitality from the plant.
Anything that influences or tries to draw us away from the center of our life
being Christ Jesus is a lie and deceit designed to destroy us for the thief only comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. Jesus came that we may have life and to the fullest! He is the one thing that is the only thing needed.
Any alternative apart from Jesus is a counterfeit of Satan. Just as the Serpent tricked Eve with the promise to be like God, apart from God, she broke connection with the
vine and His flow of life within her. Just as a branch withers and dies as soon as it is cut from the vine, death comes incrementally but a cut branch is still dead whether a moment after being cut or days later when it is withered and dry.
In order for a deceit to work, the bait must appear to offer something more…
or give allusion to something missing…In the LORD we lack nothing for the
LORD gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who live
uprightly with Him.
We must choose Life in response to the great love of the Tree of Life, who is Christ, the Lord, our Savior. As the prophet Isaiah tells, he wasn’t an attractive tree, and in the natural or carnal mind, the appeal of the counterfeit. the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was, seductively wooing mankind away from the simply beautiful purity of passionately loving the Creator. Satan, who was a beautiful being at one time– was known as Lucifer who was the most beautiful angel created by God but in his pride, he rebelled against God and lost his place. To this day, the devil can still manifest himself in his masquerade as an angel of LIGHT. His twisted logic nothing more than a counterfeit representation of “wisdom, knowledge, insight” but true wisdom only comes from God and is pure and peaceable. It is REVEALED by the Holy Spirit.
HE HAD NO ATTRACTIVENESS
Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
The truth is that love cost God everything to bring fallen man back into proper relationship with Him. The cross is the life center of the Tree, and requires our
turning our backs on all that would lead us from this pure, simple Truth.
Real life is dying to self, and living in Christ. Not many are willing to go that route anymore.
On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”
From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
by some appealing appearance, we like Eve get fixated, or obsessed with the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the Tree of Life, is OUT OF SIGHT/OUT OF MIND.
But APPEARANCES are misleading; we need to put on the LORD JESUS and make no provision for the FLESH for all flesh is as grass …it withers and dies but the Word of the LORD abides forever.
There’s a way that SEEMS right but it only leads to DEATH.
Just because something LOOKS easier, doesn’t mean it is better.
We must consider the end of going that way.
To this day the major job our spiritual enemy continues to do is keep our eyes off of the simplicity of devotion to Christ, and eat of a tree that complicates and distracts us from that simple fellowship with Him, which is how Jesus describes of eternal life is, which was embedded in Him, the Tree of Life.
Beware of the even the Least Likely Temptation!
Sucker branches start small but even he least likely temptations will be effective in sapping strength and vitality from simply staying in the vine (Jesus, the Tree of Life).
This is the reason I kneel in the presence of the Father from whom all the family in heaven and on earth receives its name. I’m asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit. Then Christ will live in you through faith. I also pray that love may be the ground into which you sink your roots and on which you have your foundation. This way, with all of God’s people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is. You will know Christ’s love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God.
“‘…and I will bring My people Israel back from exile. They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,’ says the LORD your God.” — Amos 9:14-15
IN EVERYTHING YOU DO, PUT GOD FIRST & HE WILL DIRECT YOU AND CROWN YOUR EFFORTS WITH SUCCESS.
The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
As yesterday He spoke to me of the BRIDE making herself ready to wear white and unto her it was granted to wear the white fine linen
and as Esther put on her holy array
as Tamar took off her widow’s mourning clothes
as Jesus rebuked the mourners at Jairus’ house!
this is the confidence we have in HIM!
that we may boldly come before the throne of God to find strength and help in time of need.
We also are to remember—when conducting business dealings, meeting strangers, interacting with family and friends, and sitting by ourselves in front of the television or Internet—that we are to be holy in all our conduct.
“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15–16)
May we all lead holy lives that give glory to the Lord.
But the LORD is faithful and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
The best way to return to GOD is simply come running into His arms as a child with his loving father.
“. . . kept by the power of God . . .”— that is the only safety. (1 Peter 1:5).
They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, PRO-CLAIMING, ‘The LORD is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.’
Turn your eyes upon Jesus (fixing our eyes…also Rev. 3 about eyes) the fix rather than fixation. Passion for purity vs obsession with lust
I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is your fruit found. Hosea 14:8
