“A child is not a vase to be filled, but a fire to be lit.”
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey–whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Submit Yourselves to God
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that He jealously longs for the spirit He has caused to dwell in us? But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Again, this is God’s command: to believe in His personally named Son, Jesus Christ. He told us to love each other, in line with the original command. As we keep His commands, we live deeply and surely in Him, and He lives in us. And this is how we experience His deep and abiding presence in us: by the Spirit He gave us.
and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.”
1 John 3:21-22
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
1 John 5:14
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. A person who has doubts is thinking about two different things at the same time and can’t make up his mind about anything. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord.
“I have come to set the world on FIRE, and I wish it were already burning! So I advise you to buy gold from Me–gold that has been purified by FIRE. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from Me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see.”–Jesus
Luke 12:49, Revelation 3:18
“If you do what is right, won’t you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.“–GOD
There is one coming who is mightier than I [John the Baptist], whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and FIRE.”
But who can endure the day of His coming? Who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.
That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
2 Timothy 1:12
These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:7
By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
2 Peter 3:7
For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what he has done.
He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
1 Corinthians 1:8, 4:5
and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with His powerful angels.
2 Thessalonians 1:7
on the day He comes to be glorified in His holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.
2 Thessalonians 1:10
the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.
For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
1 Corinthians 3:5(b)-9
- Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
- James 1:27
- For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.
- 2 Peter 2:18
They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity–for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.
2 Peter 2:19
If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.
2 Peter 2:20
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
2 Peter 3:13
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
1 John 3:2
- from demandare “entrust, charge with a commission”
- “to ask, request, demand”, from “to order” (see MANDATE)
- Meaning “to ask for as a right”
- Meaning “a request, claim” is from c.1300.
A DEMAND note is a PROMISSORY note which is payable any time the holder of the note makes a request. This is different from a note due at a specific time, upon occurrence of an event, or by installments. (See: PROMISSORY NOTE BELOW)
“A written, signed, unconditional promise to pay a certain amount of money on demand at a specified time. A written promise to pay money that is often used as a means to borrow funds or take out a loan.”
The individual who promises to pay is the maker, and the person to whom payment is promised is called the payee or holder. If signed by the maker, a promissory note is a negotiable instrument. It contains an unconditional promise to pay a certain sum to the order of a specifically named person or to bearer—that is, to any individual presenting the note. A promissory note can be either payable on demand or at a specific time.
Certain types of promissory notes, such as corporate bonds or retail installment loans, can be sold at a discount—an amount below their face value. The notes can be subsequently redeemed on the date of maturity for the entire face amount or prior to the due date for an amount less than the face value. The purchaser of a discounted promissory note often receives interest in addition to the appreciated difference in the price when the note is held to maturity.
Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Certainly, Christ made God’s many promises come true. For that reason, because of our message, people also honor God by saying, “Amen!“
2 Corinthians 1:20
For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs.
If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying?
1 Corinthians 14:16
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.
Be it unto me according to Your Word Lord. I want Your perfect will for me and my house as we serve You with thanksgiving coming into Your courts with praise.
We bless Your holy name in Christ Jesus Amen.
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
FOR A WIDE DOOR FOR EFFECTIVE SERVICE HAS OPENED TO ME BUT WITH IT ARE MANY ADVERSARIES BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER FOR JESUS ALREADY TOLD US THAT IN THE WORLD WILL HAVE MANY TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS BUT TO BE OF GOOD CHEER FOR HE HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD. THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT OVERCOMES THE WORLD–EVEN OUR FAITH. This is how we overcome—by His blood and the word of our testimony and we don’t cling to our lives but lay them down
just as Christ did and by His Holy Spirit we are raised up to walk together with Christ in newness of Resurrection life!
I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man’s boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
Luke 18:1, Luke 11:8
— but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
2 Corinthians 4:1, Ephesians 6:18
the Lord has assigned to each his task. (1 Corinthians 3:5)
God gives the increase!
God does nothing out of order.
And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment. -Jude 1:6
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
If you want to LIVE, you have to GIVE.
This is the key to joyful living which is true prosperity.
Godliness with contentment is GREAT GAIN.
Surely goodness and mercy shall FOLLOW me ALL the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Father, may I serve others out of gratitude to You. May my service flow out as worship so that they may taste and see
that You are good and no good thing do You withhold from those who walk uprightly with You. We are not spiritual beggars
but beloved children of the Living God who delights to co-operate through Christ’s co-heirs.
Freely we have received every good and perfect gift from You!
Freely we have received everything we need that pertains to LIFE and godliness through Christ.
Now we must freely GIVE!
Silver and gold have I none but such as I have, GIVE I unto you—in the Name of Jesus of Nazareth, RISE and WALK!
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my Strength!
We have to take it to the streets. This spiritual heritage is a living legacy that needs to be shared in order to release the full potential God desires for it.
God’s potent potential He placed on divine demand in us by His Holy Spirit. Importunity knocks on heaven’s door to God’s greatest opportunity!
For a great and effective door is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
1 Corinthians 16:9, James 5:16
If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.
By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple-
