The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
2 Peter 3:9
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.
When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.
Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.
Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
Moses saw that the people were running wild and that Aaron had let them get out of control and so become a laughingstock to their enemies. The boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions.
Exodus 32:15, 1 Samuel 3:1
“Now then, my sons, listen to Me; blessed are those who keep My ways. A servant cannot be corrected by mere words; though he understands, he will not respond.
Proverbs 8:32, Proverbs 29:19
“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land–not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.
Whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet STUMBLE in ONE point, he is guilty of ALL. Those who love Your law have GREAT PEACE & NOTHING causes them to STUMBLE. You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
You have not handed me over to the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.
He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.
Psalm 31:8, Psalm 18:19
Isaiah 26:1-6 –Pray, Praise, Proclaim!
Stretch the Borders of Life
At that time, this song
will be sung in the country of Judah:
We have a strong city, Salvation City,
built and fortified with salvation.
Throw wide the gates
so good and true people can enter.
People with their minds set on you,
you keep completely whole,
Steady on their feet,
because they keep at it and don’t quit.
Depend on God and keep at it
because in the Lord God you have a sure thing.
Those who lived high and mighty
he knocked off their high horse.
He used the city built on the hill
as fill for the marshes.
All the exploited and outcast peoples
build their lives on the reclaimed land.
