Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent. For I have come down from heaven not to do My will but to do the will of Him who sent Me. Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me. “ John 6:29,38, 57
However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.
Do Not Worry
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
When we’re bringing our requests to God, we’re saying, “Lord, here’s the NEED” –the circumstance, the person, whatever it may be; THEN we ASK HIM to answer ACCORDING to His Omniscient Will.
Not my will but Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He learned obedience from the things He suffered.
The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.
Hebrews 5:8. Isaiah 50:5
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold; though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.
So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
1 Peter 1:7
When God forgives, God forgets!
God never digs up our past when He forgives!
I am set free by God’s loving forgiveness.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear is by suspicion, but he who fears is not grown up in love. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.
1 John 4:18,12
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven!
What joys when sins are covered over!
What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey You. But I trust in Your unfailing love; My heart rejoices in Your salvation.
That I may declare Your praises in the gates of the Daughter of Zion and there rejoice in Your salvation.
Psalm 51:12, Psalm 13:5, Psalm 9:14
Surely God is my help; the Lord is the One who sustains me.
Your troops will be willing on Your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn You will receive the dew of your youth.
Psalm 54:4, Psalm 110:3
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 9:8, Philippians 4:7
And this is His command: to believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us.
1 John 3:23
We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1:3
To him who overcomes and does My will to the End, I will give authority over the nations–
This God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end! He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ–So that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling…as you hold out the Word of Life–in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.
Psalm 48:14, 1 Corinthians 1:8, Philippians 1:10, Philippians 2:16, Philippians 2:12
This world is being judged now. The ruler of this world will be thrown out now.
The great dragon was hurled down–that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
John 12:31, Revelation 12:9
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. In which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Ephesians 6:12, Ephesians 2:2, 2 Corinthians 4:4
“But an evil spirit of this kind is only driven out by prayer and fasting.”–Jesus
The Bread and the Cup
The person who lives a sinful life belongs to the devil, because the devil has been committing sin since the beginning.
The reason that the Son of God appeared was to destroy what the devil does. Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death–that is, the devil—
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
John 4:4, 1 John 5:19
Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent Me, and from finishing His work.
By Myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and My judgment is just, for I seek not to please Myself but Him who sent Me. For I have come down from heaven not to do My will but to do the will of Him who sent Me. The One who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.”
John 4:34, John 5:30, John 6:38, John 8:29
I am convinced of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the Day of the Messiah Jesus. Philippians 1:6
“Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from Me. Yet I want your will to be done, not Mine.”
I have brought You glory on earth by completing the work You gave Me to do. Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” When He had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, He bowed his head and gave up His spirit.
Luke 22:42, John 17:4, John 19:28,30
Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
Jesus already finished the work; our work is to believe. Fear not, only believe then you shall see the glory of God revealed by His Holy Spirit bearing witness to His Word sent to heal and deliver you from destruction. Jesus is the Living Word of Almighty God the Father who is interceding for you at the Father’s right hand.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and for ever; He is an ever present help in time of need. In His presence is fullness of joy and the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Worry has to do with the future but worry diminishes us from what God purposed.
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I
will give you rest.”
I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear Me, so that they will never turn away from me. “Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me.When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with Me where I am.”–Jesus
Exodus 33:14, Jeremiah 32:40, John 12:26, John 14:3
What joy in knowing that our past is covered by the blood of Jesus and what relief that our sins are forgiven and forgotten in His mercy.
Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of His covenant. But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard. And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. Then your light will break through like the dawn, and you will heal quickly. Your righteousness will go ahead of you, and the glory of the LORD will guard you from behind.
Psalm 23:6, Psalm 25:10, Isaiah 52:12,10,8 I
God’s truth endures forever–His love never fails–God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Our times are in His hands–our past covered by His loving forgiveness; our future secured by His unfailing redemptive love and our present without fear for everything else pales in comparison to that perfect love that casts out all fear as sunlight dispels the shadows!
The Lord is our defense, what can man do to us? Our past is covered, our future promised as He perfects our faith in His unfailing love. He is an ever present help
and with us always even to the very end of this age.
As we walk (live) in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. We walk in His truth and we live in agreement with His Word which is faithful and true.
Nothing overtakes us as God knows all things and is working them out for His glory in Christ Jesus! Amen
