Then the King will say to those on His right, “
“Come you who are blessed by My Father, take your INHERITANCE, the KINGDOM PREPARED for you since the CREATION of the WORLD.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…WHATEVER you did for one of the LEAST of these brothers of mine, you did it for ME.”
If we are to be truly effective in ministering to the world, it is necessary that we be filled with the compassion of God.
Only His love can give us the proper PERSPECTIVE to see the hurting around us, Only His love can soften our hearts to the point that we RECOGNIZE the eyes of Jesus looking back at us when we reach out to those in need.
Whether feeding the hungry or housing the homeless —
in the natural or the spiritual —
may we remember that what we are doing for others, we are doing for Him.
Lord Jesus, help us This Day, This Week, to look for the needs You have Called us to Meet. Either individually or corporately, may we not neglect “the least.” Amen.
