Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
It’s time for real change, so we can get back to work and this is the work of God that we believe.
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent—Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me.”
(John 6:29, John 6:57)
“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” –Jesus
On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.
1 Thessalonians 2:4
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
Galatians 1:10, 1 Corinthians 10:33b
Therefore, if you can’t be trusted with wealth that is often used dishonestly, who will trust you with wealth that is real?
And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?
And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?
Judas was in charge of the treasury and in the sight of man, that LOOKED like the highest position and trust-worthy but in the Kingdom of God, Judas was the least and was not promoted in charge of the true riches. Judge not by appearances but judge with right judgment for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. In the end the truth will find you out. Judas betrayed
the Lord and his ill-gotten gain could not save his life. He hung himself on a tree and as the Bible says, “cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” Christ took our sins in His flesh and crucified them on the Cross and in the death of His flesh He opened the way to newness of Resurrection Life. Judas betrayed the only remedy for the sin-sick heart as there are no shortcuts to salvation.
Money can’t buy the Kingdom of God. Hearts are won by God’s mercy and grace purchased by Christ on the cross. It is a matter of life or death.
When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.
Dispute Over Whose Children Jesus’ Opponents Are
Even while these people were worshiping the LORD, they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their fathers did.
2 Kings 17:41
Certainly, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything it contains is His.”
1 Corinthians 10:26
“Who has a claim against Me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to Me.”
“If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and all that is in it.”
Job 41:11, Psalm 50:12
Beware that your hearts are not deceived, and that you do not turn away and serve other gods and worship them. Or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and He will shut up the heavens so that there will be no rain and the ground will not yield its fruit; and you will perish quickly from the good land which the LORD is giving you.
Be careful, brothers and sisters, that none of you ever develop a wicked, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God!
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
THE GOD OF GLORY THUNDERS
Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the LORD. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the LORD’s.”
See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused Him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from Him who warns us from heaven?
Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.
But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
And this is His command: to believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us. “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God. To him who overcomes I will give the privilege of sitting down with Me on My throne, as I also have overcome and have sat down with My Father on His throne. To him who overcomes and does My will to the end, I will give authority over the nations.”–Jesus
