The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals His thoughts to man, He who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth–the LORD God Almighty is His name. Joel 2:31, Amos 4:13
At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people–everyone whose name is found written in the book–will be delivered–a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and gross darkness, as the dawn spread upon the mountains; a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, to the years of generations and generations.
Daniel 12:1, Joel 2:2
Fathers, don’t make your children bitter about life. Instead, bring them up in Christian discipline and instruction.
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother. Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death. Because the LORD warns the one He loves, even as a father warns a son with whom he is pleased. Whoever refuses to spank his son hates him, but whoever loves his son disciplines him from early on.
Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the wicked you show yourself hostile. 2 Samuel 22:27
Therefore, the LORD says: “I am planning disaster against this people, from which you cannot save yourselves. You will no longer walk proudly, for it will be a time of calamity.
“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the LORD Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them.” Micah 2:3, Malachi 4:1
It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.
The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled). You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.
Isaiah 2:12, 2 Samuel 22:28
But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
1 Thessalonians 5:4, 2 Peter 3:10
[A song by David for going up to worship.] O LORD, my heart is not conceited. My eyes do not look down on others. I am not involved in things too big or too difficult for me.
When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.
Ezekiel 47:7, Psalm 45:7
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
—wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart. Psalm 23:5, Psalm 104:15
Blessed are those whose thoughts are pure. They will see God.
Blessed are those who are pure in their hearts, for they shall see God.
Awake, awake, O Zion, clothe yourself with strength. Put on your garments of splendor, O Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; OBEY it, and REPENT. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
Isaiah 52:1, Revelation 3:3
He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
Matthew 15:13, 1 Corinthians 3:9
“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7, Jeremiah 17:8
I, the LORD, have called you to do what is right. I will take hold of your hand. I will protect you. I will appoint you as my promise to the people, as my light to the nations. You will open the eyes of the blind. You will free the captives from prison, releasing those who sit in dark dungeons. Isaiah 42:6-7
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. [He has sent me] to provide for all those who grieve in Zion, to give them crowns instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of [tears of] grief, and clothes of praise instead of a spirit of weakness. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the Plantings of the LORD, so that He might display His glory.
Then will all Your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of My hands, for the display of My splendor.
—to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!‘ They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.
—to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.
Isaiah 49:9, Acts 26:18
On that day the deaf will hear words of a book, And out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see. Isaiah 29:18
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Isaiah 35:5
Ears that hear and eyes that see–the LORD has made them both.
For the LORD takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with salvation. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.
Psalm 149:4, Isaiah 26:2
Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. I will provide for them a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the scorn of the nations.
Jeremiah 31:13, Ezekiel 34:29
ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN–THIS IS THE KEY TO THE KINGDOM AND
JESUS IS THE DOOR THAT LEADS TO LIFE EVERLASTING
Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud, O earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, He displays His glory in Israel. I am bringing My righteousness near, it is not far away; and My salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, My splendor to Israel
Isaiah 44:23, Isaiah 46:13
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. They would not be like their forefathers–a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to Him. their hearts were not loyal to Him, they were not faithful to His covenant.
Psalm 73:1, Psalm 78:8, Psalm 78:37
