Tough times don’t last, tough people do, remember?
Jesus said that in the world we will have many troubles but to not fear but to be courageous even cheerful for He has already overcome the world. The call is for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints. Jesus was asked by the thief on the cross to remember him when He cam into His kingdom and to that most basic statement of faith, Jesus assured the man with these words, “today you will be with Me in paradise.” For joy and peace come though believing and the work of man is to believe God.
Peace and Hope
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Romans 5:1-5)
‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6) When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
Endure all things using your faith in God as an IMPENETRABLE shield to ward off the enemy’s influence over your mind, will and emotions. Stand firm in the love of God which is poured out on you in His abundance of grace. Do not worry about things that you do not now understand because you have faith that is growing and trusts that God will broaden your understanding at the right time. Do not take heed too much the judgement of others but live to be approved by God for He is the only Righteous Judge.
Let His Word, Values and Spirit rule in your body, soul and spirit.
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance. (Hebrews 6:12)
Trials and Temptations
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. (James 1:2-8)
Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
There is no fear when you trust the Lord for in His presence you know He who is Faithful and True–He keeps His Word to a thousand generations of those that love Him AND obey His Commands.
Generally a generation, in terms of time in the bible, is forty years. But pay close attention to the context of whatever verses you are reading about this…but for our purposes that is 40,000. years. From the standpoint of a genealogy buff, my oldest limbs in
the family pedigree only extend back to the early 1500’s, a scant 510 years! Who can fathom the depths of the love of God?
Is anything too hard for the LORD?
Job says “I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?”
Never withdraw from the challenges of life fearing failure for all things are possible WITH God IF you trust and obey WHATEVER He tells you to do. He is faithful and true and watches over His Word to execute it at the right time.
Those that wait upon the Lord will never be put to shame.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. For the joy of the Lord is your strength and in His presence is fullness of joy! Joy and peace come through believing Him. For all the promises of God are in Him “YES and AMEN” to the glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:20) Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3)
Call upon the Holy Spirit for His love to fill you with patience and power to rise above the negative experiences and people that come against the life of God growing up inside you.
Dispel the darkness in the light of His love for you…how can you afford to be selfish when He has forgiven you for all your infractions? Ask Him to keep the stream of His perfecting love flowing from His throne to and through you to others.
Free your mind from the shackles of man’s thoughts, opinions and ways to receive the creative, redemptive and life-producing mind of Christ Jesus.
Worship God in spirit and in truth. God’s Spirit is given to reveal the Faithful and True Word is alive forever in His Son Jesus Christ. God shall supply all your need according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus who gave His life for you to be freed from the curse of sin and death and live abundantly with Him forever.
I pray that I may follow the will of God for my life and that it will help lead others to the joy and peace that come through believing God. Amen.
To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. I have received authority from my Father. I will give authority over the nations to everyone who wins the victory and continues to do what I want until the end. But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever–yes, for ever and ever.’ (Revelation 3:21, Revelation 2:26, Daniel 7:18)
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. (Proverbs 16:32)
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
In John 6:29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.“
But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
I run in the path of Your commandments, for You have set my heart free. (Psalm 119:32)
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10)
“No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said.” (Psalm 89:34)
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19)
Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. (Deuteronomy 7:9)
God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. (1 Corinthians 1:9)
The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
(1 Thessalonians 5:24)
If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself. (2 Timothy 2:13)
Maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation. (Exodus 34:7)
You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other. Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. (Deuteronomy 4:35, 39)
ON CHRIST THE SOLID ROCK I STAND, ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SHIFTING SAND) ON THIS ROCK GOD IS BUILDING UP HIS CHURCH AND THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL
NOTHING CAN STAND AGAINST THE LORD
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR
He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
Jesus was clear that the world would know we belong to Him by the love that we live out in our lives:
“So now I am giving you a new commandment; Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
(John 13: 34-35)
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)
A Green Shoot from Jesse’s Stump
A green Shoot will sprout from Jesse’s stump, from his roots a budding Branch.
The life-giving Spirit of God will hover over him,
the Spirit that brings wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit that gives direction and builds strength,
the Spirit that instills knowledge and Fear-of-God.
will be all his joy and delight.
He won’t judge by appearances,
won’t decide on the basis of hearsay.
He’ll judge the needy by what is right,
render decisions on earth’s poor with justice.
His words will bring everyone to awed attention.
A mere breath from his lips will topple the wicked.
Each morning he’ll pull on sturdy work clothes and boots,
and build righteousness and faithfulness in the land.
A Living Knowledge of God
The wolf will romp with the lamb,
the leopard sleep with the kid.
Calf and lion will eat from the same trough,
and a little child will tend them.
Cow and bear will graze the same pasture,
their calves and cubs grow up together,
and the lion eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child will crawl over rattlesnake dens,
the toddler stick his hand down the hole of a serpent.
Neither animal nor human will hurt or kill
on my holy mountain.
The whole earth will be brimming with knowing God-Alive,
a living knowledge of God ocean-deep, ocean-wide.
On that day, Jesse’s Root will be raised high, posted as a rallying banner for the peoples. The nations will all come to him. His headquarters will be glorious.
Also on that day, the Master for the second time will reach out to bring back what’s left of his scattered people. He’ll bring them back from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Ethiopia, Elam, Sinar, Hamath, and the ocean islands.
And he’ll raise that rallying banner high, visible to all nations,
gather in all the scattered exiles of Israel,
Pull in all the dispersed refugees of Judah
from the four winds and the seven seas.
The jealousy of Ephraim will dissolve,
the hostility of Judah will vanish—
Ephraim no longer the jealous rival of Judah,
Judah no longer the hostile rival of Ephraim!
Blood brothers united, they’ll pounce on the Philistines in the west,
join forces to plunder the people in the east.
They’ll attack Edom and Moab.
The Ammonites will fall into line.
God will once again dry up Egypt’s Red Sea,
making for an easy crossing.
He’ll send a blistering wind
down on the great River Euphrates,
Reduce it to seven mere trickles.
None even need get their feet wet!
In the end there’ll be a highway all the way from Assyria,
easy traveling for what’s left of God’s people—
A highway just like the one Israel had
when he marched up out of Egypt.
