God, the Master, says:
“From now on, I myself am the shepherd. I’m going looking for them. As shepherds go after their flocks when they get scattered, I’m going after my sheep. I’ll rescue them from all the places they’ve been scattered to in the storms. I’ll bring them back from foreign peoples, gather them from foreign countries, and bring them back to their home country. I’ll feed them on the mountains of Israel, along the streams, among their own people. I’ll lead them into lush pasture so they can roam the mountain pastures of Israel, graze at leisure, feed in the rich pastures on the mountains of Israel. And I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep. I myself will make sure they get plenty of rest. I’ll go after the lost, I’ll collect the strays, I’ll doctor the injured, I’ll build up the weak ones and oversee the strong ones so they’re not exploited.”
I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, You were God. You are God from everlasting to everlasting.
Isaiah 48:3, Psalm 90:2
Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance? Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation.
Romans 2:4, 2 Peter 3:15
He is jealous for me, Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.
And oh, how He loves us so, Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all.
(lyrics by David Crowder, “How He Loves”)
The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 4:18, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Peter 1:11
…but he who endures to the end will be saved. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
Matthew 10:22, 1 Corinthians 15:24
Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
2 Corinthians 8:2, 1 Timothy 1:16, Colossians 2:2
If we are His children, we are also God’s heirs. If we share in Christ’s suffering in order to share His glory, we are heirs together with Him. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in his death. And into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for you.
Romans 8:17, Ephesians 3:6, Philippians 3:10, 1 Peter 1:4
Lord, I know that gratitude brings humility. I pray that humility will lead me into Your more abundant life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
This is what the LORD says:
“I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.”
For He broke down their prison gates of bronze; He cut apart their bars of iron.
I will place the key of the house of David around his neck. What he opens no one will shut. What he shuts no one will open. What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; the man he imprisons cannot be released.
Isaiah 22:22, Job 12:14
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
Matthew 16:19, Revelation 3:7
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
1 Peter 4:13, Revelation 21:7
The Apostles Persecuted
Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.”
At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people. The night is far spent, and the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
Acts 5:17-21, Romans 13:12
Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose.
A psalm. For giving grateful praise.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is He who made us, and we are His;
we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made. Not a single one of all the good promises the LORD had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything He had spoken came true.
Psalm 145:13, Joshua 21:45
