And Jesus said to him,
“If you can? All things are possible to him who believes.”
We as Christ’s ADOPTED sons and daughters are not SLAVES to fear which is the dominion of the prince of darkness but we have turned from this darkness to His marvelous light of life!
The power of sin is death and for this purpose, Jesus was manifest (revealed) to destroy the work of Satan (the prince of darkness) for Jesus is the Lord of Life and the Prince of Peace and the King of Kings for His Kingdom will not be shaken!
TODAY, we are told:
“Success comes to those who work hard enough and believe in themselves enough.”
I lived the first 29 years of my life with a dreaded fear of public speaking. Attempts at overcoming that fear were un-successful.
In other areas of my life positive affirmations and determination resulted in success but some things do not just disappear because you “wish” them away.
A high school class and college speech class succeeded in creating tremendous academic stress in my schedule. Two toastmaster clubs succeeded in making my days miserable.
No matter how hard I worked and believed in myself, nothing helped to eliminate the real fear I had when standing in front of people (even two people!) and speaking–no matter how prepared I was.
Over 20 years ago I counseled with my pastor about my fear.
He took me into a study of scripture about the need to grow closer to Jesus in our faith walk.
He took me through verses expressing our continual need to be fed, guided and pruned. In order to be fruitful we need to remain in the presence of our Father in Heaven (the “Gardener“) and attached to Jesus (the “Vine“).
The branches of a vine don’t have to work hard to produce fruit; they simply need to be connected to the vine, the SOURCE of their LIFE.
They don’t get stressed–they rest! In faith I need to do the same.
Father God, I believe: help my unbelief! I know that my wordly attempts at success are often driven by the world’s idea of success, yet are fruitful only in a worldly measure. Fill my life with fruit measured and produced on the vine by You alone. In Jesus’ loving and precious Name. Amen.
I would have lost heart unless I had BELIEVED that I would SEE the Goodness of the Lord in the land of the LIVING. Wait on the Lord; be of Good Courage and He shall STRENGTHEN your heart.
(Psalm 27:13,14) Father give us FAITH ENOUGH to believe without SEEING for faith comes by hearing the Word of God and as we are You sheep called by Your name and Jesus says that, “My sheep hear My voice and follow Me–the voice of any other they will not follow.”
Help us to take heed to Your Word alone and let every other word fall on deaf hears as we focus with singleness of heart on You who are Faithful and True even unto the very end of the age as we receive the End of our Faith in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior Amen.
