For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.”
John 3:16, John 4:34
Everything is possible for him who believes. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Mark 9:23, Hebrews 11:6
You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted;
You encourage them,
and You listen to their cry.
Come near to God and he will come near to you.
Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
You came near when I called You, and You said, “Do not fear.”
James 4:8, Lamentations 3:57
When the enemy stripped David clean of all his family and possessions.
When even his own “mighty men” turned against him.
When even his friends, those who stood with him in battle, spoke
of stoning him.
David encouraged himself in the Lord.
Up to the time of Samuel the prophet, God provided judges to lead them. But then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul, son of Kish, out of the tribe of Benjamin. After Saul had ruled forty years, God removed him from office and put King David in his place, with this commendation:
‘I’ve searched the land and found this David, son of Jesse. He’s a man whose heart beats to My heart, a man who will do what I tell him.’
“The Christian life is one of spiritual courage and determination lived out in our flesh.”
(Oswald Chambers, “My Utmost For His Highest”)
Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged by sinful men.
The only true source of knowledge is the Word of God and the fear of God.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
Stubborn fools despise wisdom and discipline.
To Jairus, the synagogue ruler who came to Jesus for healing for his little daughter upon receiving the news that it was too late, she was dead…Jesus–ignoring what they said, said to Jairus:
“Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
To the father of the boy who was demon-possessed to the point
of multiple suicide attempts…this man came to Jesus asking IF
He can do anything to take pity on them and help them...to
that weak cry for mercy, Jesus responded with:
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
And David became more and more powerful, because the LORD of Heaven’s Armies was with him.
1 Chronicles 11:9
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the spirits.
Commit your works to the Lord,
and your thoughts will be established.
So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Ecclesiastes 11:10, Matthew 5:48
Work out your salvation in fear and trembling, perfecting holiness in the sight of the Lord.
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.
Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.
1 Peter 1:15, 1 Peter 1:17
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
1 Thessalonians 5:24, 2 Thessalonians 3:3
God is ever true to His promises, and it was by Him that you were, one and all, called into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ, our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9
Lord, I will persistently carry out my spiritual exercises
every day. I know that my labors are not in vain in You.
Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit.
And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
2 Corinthians 7:1, 1 John 3:3, Hebrews 10:22
But Christ is faithful as a Son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 3:6, Hebrews 4:16
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints.
And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.
1 Peter 2:5
Father thank You for giving us Your Son to take away our sins that we might live be ONE with You forever Yours. Give us this day to
do Your will not our own and lead us to know each other as ONE as Jesus prayed (John 17:21) for this is the heart that pleases You
and we know that You give us the desires of our heart. We live to please You Father and so we ask for a heart that is well pleasing in Jesus’ name. Amen.
