Woe to me! The LORD has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my Exceeding Joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise Thee, O God my God.
Jeremiah 45:3, Psalm 42:2, Psalm 43:4
Jesus Christ who is the SAME yesterday, today and forever is saying in this place and time,
“Can you not stay awake and alert WITH Me just ONE HOUR?
Watch and pray that you do not fall into temptation the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”
A symptom represented, medically, by a number of different conditions, including:
lack of muscle strength, malaise, dizziness, or fatigue.
The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
Yet it is through discipline, we are strengthened in all we go through in growing ever closer to God. We are being trained
the proper attitude and our character is matured, and faith deepens and hope holds fast as we learn to endure every circumstance seeing
it as an opportunity to exercise –to work out –our salvation in the sight of the Lord knowing that none of our labors are pointless in His plan for our lives.
Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the Word of Life.
Those who are spiritually mature “have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Proverbs 24:10, Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah 8 was written in the context of the newly rebuilt and dedicated temple in Jerusalem with the worship of God its focal point.
Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart…As Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Hebrews 12:3, Romans 6:4
“Faith reveals itself in committing itself to the testimony and will of God, in resting in the promises and declarations of God, and in the word and work of Christ.”
(Charles G. Finney)
Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish.
In Your love You kept me from the pit of destruction;
You have put all my sins behind your back.
O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His Holy NAME forever!
Lord, Save me from faint-heartedness in prayer. Teach me constancy and persistence–the ability to hold on, press on, and wait steadfast no matter what for I know You are Faithful and True and that You watch over Your Word to perform it in Jesus’ name. Amen
The condition or quality of being constant; steadfast of mind under duress; fortitude; fidelity:
The quality of being faithful and dependable.
The quality of being enduring, unchanging and unwavering
Steadfastness as in purpose, love, or loyalty; firmness of mind.
For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
2 Timothy 1:7, 1 Corinthians 15:58
Persistent prayer is a mighty move of the soul toward God… it is the ability to hold on, press on, and wait.
“No one calls for justice; no one pleads his case with integrity. They rely on empty arguments and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.”
It’s time for the children of God to walk in obedience to His Will.
It’s time for His children to worship Him in spirit and in truth
for the Father has no greater joy than that His children are walking in Truth (living their lives in alignment with His Word). The hour
as come that we are to stand firm holding out the Word of His Truth
for we are our brothers’ keepers. The Lord has commissioned us for this time and place to bear His light so that the lost and wayward do not perish but come to His everlasting Life in Christ Jesus.
For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who His children really are. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as His adopted children, including the new bodies He has promised us.
Romans 8:19, 23
If the LORD delights in a man’s way, He makes his steps firm…for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones. You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn. Our lives are in His hands, and He keeps our feet from stumbling.
We have been delivered to stand in the gap and plead for our brethren because the accuser has no case against those who are
In Christ Jesus for this is the Victory that overcomes the world even our faith. The cross was where the Victory was won when
Jesus cried out, “It is finished!”
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.
Deuteronomy 31:6, 1 Corinthians 16:13
All men will hate you because of Me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.
Matthew 10:22, 1 Corinthians 15:58, 2 Corinthians 4:1
And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you…Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. And let us not grow weary while doing good for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Hebrews 12:5, James 5:7, Galatians 6:9
Therefore do not cast away your confidence which has great reward. For you have need of endurance so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
Hebrews 10:35, 36
Lord show me how to constantly progress towards growing up in Your likeness as I follow Jesus. I pray that I may never be complacent but that I grow more and more in Him. Lord I want to be persistent in spiritual growth even as the water cycle is perpetual and every season supplies needs, I pray that I may ever grow more and more in Your love. Help me to not expect any other reward but You until I am right spiritually for
You are my shield and my exceedingly great Reward.
Who have I on earth or in heaven but You? You alone are Lord. Amen.
Change = Hope. I hope continually in Your Word
for Your Word is Truth and it is the Way to Everlasting Life in You. Even as a tree draws water up from the ground through the roots to nourish the vine and bear fruit, my hope is anchored in Your Word.
And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 5:10,11trong>PILGRIM’S PROGRESS…
“Then Jacob made a vow, saying, ‘If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father’s house, then the Lord will be my God.’”
Genesis 28: 20 – 21
Three times a year all your men must appear before the LORD your God at the place He will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles. No man should appear before the LORD empty-handed.
The Songs of Ascents…
The title given to fifteen of the Psalms, 120–134. Each starts with the ascription Shir Hama’aloth (Hebrew: שיר המעלות, meaning “Song of Ascent“). They are also called Songs of Degrees, Songs of Steps or Pilgrim Songs.
ALL OF THEM ARE HOPEFUL…
These Psalms came to be sung by the people on the ascents or goings up to Jerusalem to attend the three pilgrim festivals (Deuteronomy 16:16) or by the kohanim (priests) as they ascended the fifteen steps to minister at the Temple in Jerusalem.
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm —
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Last night by dream I saw a time when everything we see was being swept away by an immediate change and all that remained
was what was anchored deep in the “bedrock” or foundation of Jesus Christ the Solid Rock, our Rest.
We are made clean by the washing of the Water of the Word and Jesus Christ is the Word of God. In Him we live move and have our being and Water is perpetually moving. Even as we are pilgrims progressing changing from glory to glory. Hope is the anchor. There is no other foundation that can be laid but the Lord Christ Jesus, who is the Resurrection and the Life.
But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.
… say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Hebrews 3:6, Isaiah 35:4, Isaiah 41:10
They go from strength to strength, Every one of them appears before God in Zion. LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah. Behold our shield, O God, And look upon the face of Your anointed. For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
The LORD gives grace and glory;
No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in You!
He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him.
Proverbs 21:21, 2 Peter 3:14
