You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet You have brought us out to a place of abundance.
If we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with him in His resurrection. Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.(Romans 6:5; 8:17)
But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know Me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken! (Jeremiah 9:24)
“I will search with lanterns in Jerusalem’s darkest corners to punish those who sit complacent in their sins. They think the LORD will do nothing to them, either good or bad.” (Zephaniah 1:12)
Since you trust the things you do and your treasures, you will be captured.
No one calls for justice; no one pleads his case with integrity. They rely on empty arguments and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil. (Isaiah 59:4)
“Defend the cause of the poor and needy–Is that not what it means to know Me?“–declares the LORD.
Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!
I warned you when you felt secure, but you said,
‘I will not listen!’ This has been your way from your youth; you have not obeyed Me.
(Psalm 52:7, Jeremiah 22:21)
I see everything that they do. They can’t hide anything from Me. Their wickedness can’t be hidden; I can see it. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account..
(Jeremiah 16:17, Hebrews 4:13)
‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.’ (Ezekiel 16:49)
His eyes are on the ways of men; He sees their every step. For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.
But I am very angry with the other nations that are now enjoying peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations inflicted harm on them far beyond My intentions.
“Moab has been at rest from youth, like wine left on its dregs, not poured from one jar to another–she has not gone into exile. So she tastes as she did, and her aroma is unchanged. But days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will send men who pour from jars, and they will pour her out; they will empty her jars and smash her jugs.” Will you not take what your god Chemosh gives you? Likewise, whatever the LORD our God has given us, we will possess.
(Jeremiah 48:11-12, Judges 11:24)
This is what the LORD says:
“Because Edom has committed three crimes, and now a fourth crime, I will not change My plans. The Edomites pursued their relatives with swords. They refused to show any compassion to them. Their anger was unstoppable. They refused to control their fury.” (Amos 1:1)
Maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation. (Exodus 34:7)
“For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and iniquity. In My faithfulness I will reward them and make an everlasting covenant with them.” (Isaiah 61:8)
The grapes of my body can only become wine
after the winemaker tramples me.
I surrender my spirit like grapes to his trampling
so my innermost heart can blaze and dance with joy.
Although the grapes go on weeping blood and sobbing
‘I cannot bear any more anguish,
any more cruelty’
the trampler stuffs cotton in his ears: I am not working in ignorance.
You can deny me if you want, you have every excuse.
But it is I who am the Master of this Work.
And when through my Passion you reach perfection,
you will never be done praising my name.
I will do this because they have forsaken Me and worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Molech the god of the Ammonites, and have not walked in My ways, nor done what is right in My eyes, nor kept my statutes and laws as David, Solomon’s father, did.
(1 Kings 11:33)
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
(Micah 7:18, Psalm 51:1b)
Therefore, as it is written:
“Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
(1 Corinthians 1:31)
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.(Galatians 6:14)
