“IF THE FOUNDATIONS BE DESTROYED, WHAT CAN THE RIGHTEOUS DO?”
My grace is sufficient for you for My power is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Psalm 11 addresses imperfection, disorder and incompleteness but thanks be to God for He has already given us the Victory in Christ Jesus who is the Author and Perfecter of our Faith.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are His. And, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:19
The Spirit of Prophecy is the TESTIMONY of Jesus Christ!
Man apart from God can do nothing but all things are possible to him who believes for nothing is impossible WITH GOD!
Jesus has promised to never leave or forsake us!
Yet it is because of this very testimony of trust that we are targeted by Satan. Our unswerving faith is the reason for the fiery arrows sent at us from hell.
THE DEVIL IS A LIAR
I belong to God.
Jesus KNOWS me this I LOVE!
The Lord knows those who are His.
(2 Timothy 2:19)
We know that simply quoting Scriptures or preaching to those who are in the midst of a struggle is not enough; we must continue to encourage them to never give up in the midst of the battle! The battle belongs to the Lord and for this purpose was Jesus manifest to destroy ALL the works of the enemy. The enemy is taking circumstantial evidence and making it appear very real for what is his weapon but FEAR and what is fear really but False Evidence Appearing Real. The devil is not called the ACCUSER of the brethren for nothing! He is an adversary that does not fight fair and will use our circumstances to bear upon us to loosen our grip on the truth of God seeking to cause us to lose faith through discouragement.
But God is not a man that He can lie!
NOTHING can separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord! This love has been shed abroad in our hearts by His Holy Spirit. We are not alone!
When the enemy comes in like a flood or a fury of flaming rage, quickly speak God’s promises.
Jesus Christ is the only absolute and final authority.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
If you live in Me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours.
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in My name.
Matthew 7:7 John 15:7 – John 15:16
In John 8:31, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really My disciples.”
But a crisis is not the time to develop a prayer life or work on a close relationship with God; we already need to have those things in place, giving us a strong foundation to face life’s storms.
(Dianne Neal Matthews)
The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD is on His heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth; His eyes examine them.
The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, He hates with a passion.
On the wicked He will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur;
a scorching wind will be their lot.
For the LORD is righteous, He loves justice;
the upright will see His face.
He is our foundation, He is our Lord, He is the king of the universe, and He will deliver His people just as surely as He delivered Lot. The gates of hell shall not prevail against the Lord’s Church, because it is founded on a permanent, everlasting, unmovable foundation, even the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. So go in peace and joy, and never despair, about anything.
Friends, why are you doing this? We are merely human beings—just like you! We have come to bring you the Good News that you should turn from these worthless things and turn to the living God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them.
Even now, the Lord has His children in every place so that they can
close the gap that separates you rebellious ones from God as they plead His mercy on your behalf. Did not Zoar owe its preservation from destruction to Lot on the day that Sodom received its doom?
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying,
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.
Then shall He speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure.
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Ask of Me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Jesus Prays for All Believers
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent Me. I have given them the glory that you gave Me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and You in Me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.
“Father, I want those you have given Me to be with Me where I am, and to see My glory, the glory You have given Me because You loved Me before the creation of the world.
“Righteous Father, though the world does not know You, I know you, and they know that you have sent Me. I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for Me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
James 3:14 – James 3:16 – Romans 2:8
For God is not the author of confusion (disorder), but of peace, as in all churches of the saints (His holy people).
1 Corinthians 14:33
Nevertheless, each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him.
1 Corinthians 7:17
Nor do we boast and claim credit for the work someone else has done. Instead, we hope that your faith will grow so that the boundaries of our work among you will be extended. Then we will be able to go and preach the Good News in other places far beyond you, where no one else is working. Then there will be no question of our boasting about work done in someone else’s territory. As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD.”
When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.
2 Corinthians 10:15-18
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it.
There is only one lasting foundation and anything apart from God will come to nothing as it comes from nothing. Apart from God we can do nothing.
“He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.” Luke 1:51.
So, then, brothers and sisters, don’t let anyone move you off the foundation of your faith. Always excel in the work you do for the Lord. You know that the hard work you do for the Lord is not pointless.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
1 Corinthians 15:58 – Galatians 6:9
In the end, where you stand in life determines your place for all Eternity–
The church’s one Foundation Is Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is his new creation by water and the Word:
From heav’n he came and sought her to be his holy bride;
With his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.
She is from ev’ry nation, yet one o’er all the earth,
Her charter of salvation one Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy Name she blesses, partakes one holy food.
And to one hope she presses, with ev’ry grace endued.
The church shall never perish! Her dear Lord to defend,
To guide, sustain and cherish is with her to the end;
Though there be those that hate her, and false sons in her pale,
Against or foe or traitor she ever shall prevail.
Though with a scornful wonder men see her sore oppressed,
By schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed,
Yet saints their watch are keeping, their cry goes up, “How long?”
And soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.
‘Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation of peace for evermore;
Till with the vision glorious her longing eyes are blest,
And the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.
O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we,
Like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.
There, past the border mountains, where in sweet vales the Bride
With Thee by living fountains forever shall abide!
