Merci comes from the word meaning,
“price paid for something, wages, reward”
Take the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
No matter how daunting the current situation is, the ultimate salvation is yours. You are protected. So put it on daily in confidence, with gratitude and thanksgiving.
Most of the pieces of armor are defensive, yet the Sword of the Spirit is the only offensive weapon in the believer’s armor. God’s Word is your sword. Train with it by staying in the Word so that you may be ready in your days of battle.
The Armor of God
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
(This is how we overcome!)
(This is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith!)
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith,
with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains.
Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning,
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.
So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

It’s Time to Wake Up The MIGHTY MEN!
“In this manner God appears and speaks to AWAKEN Job and his friends, to the more serious attention to his words; and to testify his displeasure both against Job, and them, that all of them might be more deeply humbled and PREPARED TO RECEIVE, and retain the instructions which God was about to give them.” (Wesley)
God Confronts Job
“Have You Gotten to the Bottom of Things?
And now, finally, God answered Job from the eye of a violent storm.
He said: “Why do you confuse the issue?
Why do you talk without knowing what you’re talking about?
Pull yourself together, Job!
Up on your feet! Stand tall!
I have some questions for you,
and I want some straight answers.
When God speaks to Job it is to focus on Truth.
“Now gird up your loins like a man.“
Just as a soldier’s belt undergirds with strength, it also provides freedom of mobility which is necessary for going the distance and standing.
In prayer –FOCUS on GOD – everything else fades into the background.
In His presence, there is clarity – vision – seeing from His perspective which is higher than our own.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up.” James 4:10
In that position of intimate face-to-face communion, His love casts out all fear, doubt and unbelief and His joy strengthens you. Like horse’s blinders, lift your vision higher and fix them on His face. Everything else fades into proper perspective when you see yourself as the apple of His eye!
Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
(You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.)
Psalm 119:165 – Philippians 4:7 – Isaiah 26:3
Multitudes are ruined for want of observing that which they cannot but see; they perish, not through ignorance, but carelessness. The Lord is well-pleased in the making known his own righteousness.
Job is a reminder to not be careless in words, thoughts. For God’s thoughts are higher than ours –
we need His vision or we perish!
Endure suffering and reproach truly following Christ for it was as though He neither saw nor heard
Therefore my beloved brethren be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
(Psalm 38:13,14) – 1 Corinthians 15:58
Father, I know that You make all things work together for good to those that obey You in love. Thank You for catching me when I fall and restoring me in Your love. Take my mistakes, the places where I fell, and use them to lift up another. Show them that You alone are in control and that You delight in Your children coming to You in all things. Nothing is too small for You and nothing too big that You can’t handle. Forgive me my faults for anything that causes me to look to anything but You is sin. You are Truth and the Answer to everything we need. Give me wisdom to learn from my mistakes and not let sin have dominion over me. Teach me how to walk knowing You are with me always. Steady me to focus only on You and endow me with strength and courage to move forward and never look back. Create in me a pure heart that I see where we are going and a steadfast spirit to go on in spite of all that comes against. Give me Your heart and let mercy flow from my thoughts, words and deeds as a healing balm to restore others to an upright position to trust You as Lord. In Jesus’ name Amen.
