For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only make me dwell in safety.
Isaiah 30:15; Psalms 4:8
Be still and know He is God. His power rests on a weaned child who lays their head down on His heart in peace and security. This is the image You gave me last night – how can we KNOW You if we are not communing with You, eating Your Word daily?
The Last Supper –a Communion with Christ not a Competition!
In the world, success is measured by percentages and numbers in graphic format but the Kingdom of God belongs to the “least of these”, Christ’s brethren.
In Communion we find that Real Life is not a Competition for God supplies all our needs according to His riches by Christ Jesus in glory. (Philippians 4:19)
If His children would only LISTEN to Him alone, they would get along better.
Listen means giving heed to His Word by obeying Him.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness does not extinguish it” John 1:1-5
God created your life to show Himself strong through it. Purpose that your life will reflect complete peace and contentment as you allow Christ to nourish and fill you with Himself and in the abundant overflow others will see Him present.
Children, listen to Your Father –- He is disciplining you in love. Receive his correction in trust so that you grow upright in His Word. Jesus sent his holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truth.
Walk and talk in agreement with His Word. When His body lines up with His head in proper order, there would not be dis-agreement! Personalities would harmonize as ONE in Him not clash as dis-chordant noise. Where is the place for ego when we realize that He created all? Tempers would dissipate in the flame of True Love. We would come together as ONE tasting and seeing that the Lord is good. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk upright with Him. We would delight to do His will not each to his own. Jesus loves the little children and there is no need to push one’s self forward. Love is demonstrated by obedience to His Word not proving self worth. A true leader is the servant of all even as Jesus stripped his divinity and clothed himself in humanity to give his life a ransom for all – whosoever will trust and obey Him. He further stripped himself of all human rank and privilege by laying aside his robe and garments and bending to wash their feet.
We think by arguing, whining and complaining that we are heard on high but God hears the sigh of every longing heart for Him. We don’t have to jockey for position for Him to notice. It’s not a competition –- He is our strength and it is perfected in our weakness – so where is the boasting in who’s stronger? His Word is Truth – so where is the boasting in who’s the smarter, the more educated, the most gifted? Every good and perfect gift comes down from above.
We are only the vessel, He is the Treasure. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. (2 Corinthians 4:7)
“We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.”
Father, help us to let go of our own ways and be filled with complete hope and trust in You, our Provider. Help us to seek You first daily and return every thanksgiving, all glory, honor and praise to You. Help us every day Father, to remember that strength comes from You. Amen.
“And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”
