God’s Word is TRUTH!
When you know Truth, it sets you free and removes every hindrance,
Preparing the Way for the King of Glory to enter in!
The entrance of His Word is God’s life-giving light!
Jesus is the Living Word of God; by Him was everything created.
Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit and with Fire.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
No man comes to the Father except by Him.
His COMPLETE, finished work of repentance and patience –
a PERFECT WORK.
I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being. To be His wholly,
His holy EXAMPLE shining His light so that others may SEE HIM!
We don’t live in darkness but in Jesus,
Prologue: Christ, the Eternal Word
In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He existed in the beginning with God.
God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.
John 1:1-5, NLT
He (Jesus) quoted a proverb:
“‘Can a blind man guide a blind man?’
Wouldn’t they both end up in the ditch?
An apprentice doesn’t lecture the master.
The point is to be careful who you follow as your teacher.”
For we are God’s fellow workers;
you are God’s field, God’s building.
These men are blemishes at your love feasts,
eating with you without the slightest qualm–
shepherds who feed only themselves.
They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind;
autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted–twice dead.
1 Corinthians 3:9, Jude 1:12
“Be wary of false preachers who smile a lot,
dripping with practiced sincerity.
Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other.
Don’t be impressed with charisma;
look for character.
Who preachers are is the main thing,
not what they say.
A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.
“Knowing the correct password—saying ‘Master, Master,’
for instance— isn’t going to get you anywhere with me.
What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills.
I can see it now—
at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, ‘Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.’
And do you know what I am going to say?
“You missed the boat.
All you did was use me to make yourselves important.
You don’t impress me one bit. You’re out of here.’
Matthew 7:15-23, The Message
Jesus says, “Come, follow me.” (Mark 1:17)
An old Jewish proverb says,
“Follow the rabbi,
drink in his words, and be covered with the dust of his feet.”
Faithful students would follow the rabbi so closely that they’d be covered in the dust his feet kicked up while walking.
When it comes to following Messiah, there is no such thing as following too closely.
Let’s learn about the Lord.
Let’s get to know the Lord.
He will come to us as sure as the morning comes.
He will come to us like the autumn rains and the spring rains
that water the ground.
“Certainly the day is coming! It will burn like a furnace.
All arrogant people and all evildoers will be like straw.
The day that is coming will burn them up completely,”
says the Lord of Armies.
“It won’t leave a single root or branch.”
The One Light in a Dark Time
“The Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings
for you people who fear my name.
You will go out and leap like calves let out of a stall.
You will trample on wicked people, because on the day I act
they will be ashes under the soles of your feet,”
says the Lord of Armies.
Remember What God Has Done and Will Do
Because the stakes are so high, even though you’re up-to-date on all this truth and practice it inside and out, I’m not going to let up for a minute in calling you to attention before it. This is the post to which I’ve been assigned—keeping you alert with frequent reminders—and I’m sticking to it as long as I live. I know that I’m to die soon; the Master has made that quite clear to me. And so I am especially eager that you have all this down in black and white so that after I die, you’ll have it for ready reference.
We weren’t, you know, just wishing on a star when we laid the facts out before you regarding the powerful return of our Master, Jesus Christ. We were there for the preview! We saw it with our own eyes: Jesus resplendent with light from God the Father as the voice of Majestic Glory spoke: “This is my Son, marked by my love, focus of all my delight.” We were there on the holy mountain with him. We heard the voice out of heaven with our very own ears.
We couldn’t be more sure of what we saw and heard—God’s glory, God’s voice. The prophetic Word was confirmed to us. You’ll do well to keep focusing on it. It’s the one light you have in a dark time as you wait for daybreak and the rising of the Morning Star in your hearts. The main thing to keep in mind here is that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of private opinion. And why? Because it’s not something concocted in the human heart. Prophecy resulted when the Holy Spirit prompted men and women to speak God’s Word.
2 Peter 1:12-21, The Message
They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
So come on, let’s leave the preschool finger painting exercises on Christ and get on with the grand work of art. Grow up in Christ.
The basic foundational truths are in place:
turning your back on “salvation by self-help”
and turning in trust toward God;
baptismal instructions; laying on of hands; resurrection of the dead; eternal judgment.
God helping us, we’ll stay true to all that. But there’s so much more. Let’s get on with it!
Once people have seen the light, gotten a taste of heaven and been part of the work of the Holy Spirit, once they’ve personally experienced the sheer goodness of God’s Word and the powers breaking in on us—if then they turn their backs on it, washing their hands of the whole thing, well, they can’t start over as if nothing happened. That’s impossible. Why, they’ve re-crucified Jesus! They’ve repudiated him in public!
Parched ground that soaks up the rain and then produces an abundance of carrots and corn for its gardener gets God’s “Well done!” But if it produces weeds and thistles, it’s more likely to get cussed out. Fields like that are burned, not harvested.
“Whenever you enter a city or village,
search for a worthy person and stay in his home until you leave town. When you enter the home, give it your blessing.
If it turns out to be a worthy home, let your blessing stand;
if it is not, take back the blessing.
If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave.
I tell you the truth, the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah will be better off than such a town on the judgment day.”
Matthew 10:11-15, NLT
God has made it possible for you to know Him and experience an amazing change in your own life. It is the light of His life burning in you that shines the way home to Him for others who were trapped in darkness.
“I have come as a Light into the world that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. But now, up on your feet—I have a job for you. I’ve handpicked you to be a servant and witness to what’s happened today, and to what I am going to show you.
“‘I’m sending you off to open the eyes of the outsiders so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light,
see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God.
I’m sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven,
and a place in the family,
inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me.’
John 12:46, Acts 26:15-18
Father let my life reflect Your glory so that others might find the Way, the Truth and the Life in Christ Jesus who has gone home to prepare a place for us so that we may have Your Everlasting, Abundant Life in the Kingdom of His Peace. May Your Great Peace be so exemplified in my daily walk, that they not stumble or be offended in any word or deed but see Jesus every step of the Way and by His grace be enabled to go through every obstacle and hindrance of the enemy to His peace. AMEN
