Or…how to laugh in the wilderness when it seems like your enemies got you cornered!
“Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.” Genesis 18:14-15,
“Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”
“And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.” Genesis 17:19
Psalm 2….Psalm 37…Psalm 52….Psalm 59…Jeremiah 32:17 show God laughing at the so-called wisdom of man for it is merely foolishness before the Creator of all.
He that created us, is He not worthy of our love? Our hearts belong to Him. Worthy of our obedience which is true worship in spirit and in truth for He that is Lord of all should be Lord of every area in our lives: our job, our home, our health, our children, our loved ones, and our service for Him.
All the Law and the Prophets are summed up, complete in One, the Lord Christ Jesus and He declares that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves.
Yet what does God see when He looks in the hearts of man?
He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm, and his justice sustained him. Isaiah 59:16
Why was no one there when I came? Why didn’t anyone answer when I called? Is it because I have no power to rescue? No, that is not the reason! For I can speak to the sea and make it dry up! I can turn rivers into deserts covered with dying fish. Isaiah 50:2
You have not gone up into the gaps or breeches, nor built up the wall for the house of Israel that it might stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. Ezekiel 13:5
You have despised and scorned My sacred things and have profaned My Sabbaths. Ezekiel 22:8
Her priests have done violence to My law and have profaned My holy things. They have made no distinction between the sacred and the secular, neither have they taught people the difference between the unclean and the clean and have hid their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
And I sought a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30
Wherefore, when I came, was there no man?….”why have I sent my prophets, and they are not converted?”
THERE WAS a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who reverently feared God and abstained from and shunned evil because it was wrong. There came a time when his faith was put to the test and if the words of his mouth and meditation of his heart was acceptable and proved him righteous.
For Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed or disowned God in their hearts. Thus did Job at all such times.
Job 1:1, 5
Then Satan answered the Lord,
“Does Job reverently fear God for nothing?
Have You not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have conferred prosperity and happiness upon him in the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face.”
And the Lord said to Satan (the adversary and the accuser),
“Behold, all that he has is in your power, only upon the man himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.” Job 1:9-12
The Lord withdrew His hand of protection, His hedge from Job’s health, his family, his property yet Job–
“…worshipped, and said,
“Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.”
Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. Just as the LORD answered Moses,
“Is the LORD’s arm too short? You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you.” Isaiah 59:1, Numbers 11:23
The Lord came by his prophets, his messengers.
Yet they did not receive them neither their messages of repentance, but despised and rejected them, and were carried captive.
Christ, God’s Son came in the flesh.
Yet his own received him not, but hid their faces from him; not entering into the kingdom of the Messiah themselves nor allowing others go in.
When He called, was there none to answer?
He called them to the marriage feast, to His Word and Way
yet they scorned and mocked him, making light of it and went about their worldly business.
Many were called but few were chosen.
All day long he stretched out His hands to a rebellious and gainsaying people.
They were blindsighted by doubt.
They did not recognize the Holy One of Israel in their midst.
Their Messiah, the Strong Deliverer, The Mighty God but mistook him to be a mere man.
Their foolish hearts were hardened in unbelief.
They listened to the empty words of idle gossip and did not accept,
by faith, God’s Word just as He Promised to Abraham of old.
Abraham believed and it was accounted to him righteousness.
They lightly esteemed the Promise spoken to their spiritual father and mother that in Isaac is the blessing for all men–for whosoever will believe.
Even as He fulfilled that Promise in the Seed of Issac to Sarah and Abraham, His Seed was in the earth as foretold by the prophets.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God and He is not a man that he should lie.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:23
“And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.” Genesis 21:1-8
MY LITTLE children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God’s law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father–it is Jesus Christ the all righteous–upright, just, Who conforms to the Father’s will in every purpose, thought, and action.
1 John 2: 1
He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm worked salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him.
“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Ezekiel 22:30, John 3:16-18
And I looked, but there was no one to help; I was amazed and appalled that there was no one to uphold truth and right. So My own arm brought Me victory, and My wrath upheld Me.
“Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus” I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Galatians 4:28, Acts 3:13, Matthew 22:32
But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition is the heritage of the servants of the Lord–those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me this is that which I impart to them as their justification, says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”’
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
I MUST BE ABOUT MY FATHER’S BUSINESS AND THAT IS ALL ABOUT HIS FAMILY!
