“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”(James 1:5, John 8:12)
We live in a world where chaos seems to be the “order” of the day.
DIS-order is ruling in a world where God has all authority and power for He created it out of nothing. But God waits patiently for His creation to call on Him and invite Him into their lives. He wants us to seek Him and know Him as Faithful and True to His Word. He is a Friend that sticks closer than any family member. He will never leave or forsake you. Even if your mother or father forsake you, the Lord will lift you up. If you are widowed, divorced or the child in this environment, there is hope for you! God says that He will be the father to the fatherless and the husband to the widow.
Micah 7:8, “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”
Isaiah 49:2 He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.
Isaiah 50:4 The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.
“This is the kind of fast day I’m after:
to break the chains of injustice,
get rid of exploitation in the workplace,
free the oppressed,
What I’m interested in seeing you do is:
sharing your food with the hungry,
inviting the homeless poor into your homes,
putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad,
being available to your own families.
Do this and the lights will turn on,
and your lives will turn around at once.
Your righteousness will pave your way.
The God of glory will secure your passage.
Then when you pray, God will answer.
You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’
A Full Life in the Emptiest of Places
“If you get rid of unfair practices,
quit blaming victims,
quit gossiping about other people’s sins,
If you are generous with the hungry
and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out,
Your lives will begin to glow in the darkness,
your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight.
I will always show you where to go.
I’ll give you a full life in the emptiest of places—
firm muscles, strong bones.
You’ll be like a well-watered garden,
a gurgling spring that never runs dry.
You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew,
rebuild the foundations from out of your past.
You’ll be known as those who can fix anything,
restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate,
make the community livable again.
“If you watch your step on the Sabbath
and don’t use my holy day for personal advantage,
If you treat the Sabbath as a day of joy,
God’s holy day as a celebration,
If you honor it by refusing ‘business as usual,’
making money, running here and there—
Then you’ll be free to enjoy God!
Oh, I’ll make you ride high and soar above it all.
I’ll make you feast on the inheritance of your ancestor Jacob.”
Yes! God says so!
So reach out and welcome one another to God’s glory. Jesus did it; now you do it! Jesus, staying true to God’s purposes, reached out in a special way to the Jewish insiders so that the old ancestral promises would come true for them. As a result, the non-Jewish outsiders have been able to experience mercy and to show appreciation to God. Just think of all the Scriptures that will come true in what we do! For instance:
Then I’ll join outsiders in a hymn-sing;
I’ll sing to your name!
And this one:
Outsiders and insiders, rejoice together!
People of all nations, celebrate God!
All colors and races, give hearty praise!
And Isaiah’s word:
There’s the root of our ancestor Jesse,
breaking through the earth and growing tree tall,
Tall enough for everyone everywhere to see and take hope!
Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!
The secret to real strength and lasting peace is found in the letters:
J = Jesus, O = others, and Y = self
This is God’s order and how you will be filled to overflowing with all joy and peace in believing and trusting Him.
This is God’s answer to despair, depression and conflicts. As we trust God, we open our heart’s door to hope, joy and peace which are the true riches found in the Lord, Jesus Christ. In believing Jesus, He sends us the comfort of His Holy Spirit that causes our hearts to overflow with His perfect love which drives out all fear. There is no room for it for there is no fear in love.
True believers’ steps are ordered by the Lord. The walk and do not stumble because the Lord lifts them up. Their lives are upright giving all the glory to the Almighty. His joy is their strength as they have learned to seek Him in all their ways and not to rely on self which is misleading. We are not sufficient unto ourselves but our sufficiency is from God who is All Sufficient and Lord of Creation. As we turn from thinking and doing things our way, we are free to walk with God in newness of life. He is there with us a very present help and He has what we need to reach the world for Him in love. Just ask God and He will flood light into the darkness of your world just as He did in the beginning. All fear is gone: no more doubt, unbelief, depression, oppression, suppression; take strength and courage in hope for all fear is gone with His love.
Father, thank You for Jesus who purchased our freedom to walk with You in light, life and love. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who leads and guides us and fills us more and more with the fruit of love which brings glory to Your name. Help us to bring Your true order to the dis-order in our world today as we draw from You in prayer, all wisdom, all knowledge, all understanding, all comfort, all joy and peace in believing Jesus, the Word made flesh; our Emmanuel who is God with us even unto the end of the age; all present. May we always follow where He leads to bring darkness to light and dis-order into Your perfect order. AMEN
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.
“This is the crisis we’re in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and illusion, hates God-light and won’t come near it, fearing a painful exposure. But anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is.”
Jeremiah 13:16, “Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.”
Jesus said, “For a brief time still, the light is among you. Walk by the light you have so darkness doesn’t destroy you. If you walk in darkness, you don’t know where you’re going. As you have the light, believe in the light. Then the light will be within you, and shining through your lives. You’ll be children of light.”
Isaiah 60:1-5 AMP
ARISE-from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life! Shine -be radiant with the glory of the Lord, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!
For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness all peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you O Jerusalem, and His glory shall be seen on you.
And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms.
Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy at the glorious deliverance and be enlarged.
