Micah 6:8, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?“
James 4:7-10, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
Let us confess and repent of any pride that the LORD reveals both individually and corporately. Confession and repentance are one way to resist the devil and cause him to flee. Let us draw near to God and pray that the Church would walk in humility, mercy and justice.
Lord, I humble myself under Your mighty hand. Help me to love mercy and to do justly. Show me the need around me and help me to meet that need. In Jesus’ name AMEN.
