Listen to “Superman”
“…The Lord spoke, saying: “By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy...”
-Leviticus 10:3 NKJV
The word “holy” means to be perfect in every way, totally beyond the created realm or comprehension or experience, and filled with supernatural, even fatal power.
“Our sun is 93 million miles away.
It would take a jetliner 21 years flying nonstop to get there,
and a car 200 years.
It only takes light only 499.0 seconds to travel from the Sun to the Earth, a distance called 1 Astronomical Unit.
Light travels 67,615,200 miles per hour.
The distance it covers in one year is called a light year.
Scientists have measured our universe to be at least
LIGHT YEARS wide!”
How does God compare?
God is so big that the entire universe fits between His thumb
and pinky finger (Isaiah 40:12)!!!
No wonder Mount Sinai shook when God came down.
How could it possibly hold Him?
Yet, God is so loving that He humbles Himself to look at this earth and care for each microscopic speck of dust called man (Psalm 113:5-6).
Just as King David thought on this, so do I…
“What is man that You (God) are mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:3-4)
How could I have so much boldness and pride to disrespect Him by disobeying even the smallest detail of His directions for even the briefest of moments? What am I thinking when I sin? Still, God promises to help me whenever I simply humble myself and live respectfully before Him (James 4:6).
Oh God, You are so holy–unsearchable, incomprehensible, incomparable, and absolutely perfect in every way. Please forgive me for any disrespect I have shown toward You, and help me regard You as holy in everything I think, say, and do today. AMEN.
