Hosea 6:1-3, “Come, & let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, & he will heal us; he hath smitten, & he will bind us up. After 2 days will he revive us: in the 3rd day he will raise us up, & we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; & he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter & former rain unto the earth.”
Joshua and the battle of Jericho
40 years of God’s Words of Promise
yet they crossed Jordan and the first thing wasn’t to take the land but to get their hearts right before God because in the physical act of circumcision they were committing their lives unto God in the face of their enemies. They were now on the enemy’s turf and humbling themselves and completely trusting God for circumcision weakens the body for three full days. And then God said that this day He has rolled away the reproach from off of them. The voice of the accuser is silenced. God is speaking and He is the leader of His people.
As Joshua went out to survey the land and formulate the battle plan, the Captain of the Lord’s Army appears to him and gives God’s word for the battle belonging to Him.
No matter HOW it LOOKED, the LORD SAID and it was as He said.
